Your day to day

Working in the Communications function of one of the world’s largest hotel groups is both challenging and rewarding in equal measure.

Purpose of the role

The role supports the Corporate Communications Manager & Director (based in Dubai), and requires working in close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders across key markets in IMEA. This includes colleagues and stakeholders across offices in Dubai, Riyadh and Gurgaon, regional and local media, creative and PR agencies as well as  government contacts.

 




What we need from you

Media engagement

  • Regular liaison with Arabic media to build relationships
  • Secure interview, profiling , Op-ed or relationship building opportunities for IHG’s spokespeople
  • Securing opportunities for participation in industry stories to maintain IHG’s SOV, particularly in KSA
  • Assist in dissemination of specific media announcements (hotel signings, openings, talent campaigns, growth etc), especially in focus markets such as Saudi Arabia

Overall management

  • Regular catch ups with key stakeholders (owners, General Managers, corporate colleagues) on key market updates, news hooks and media opportunities

 Participation in events

  • Highlight relevant industry events for IHG’s/ spokespeople participation, to the comms team, to build company/ spokesperson profile, especially in Saudi Arabia
  • Provide on ground support for industry events – specifically for media interviews at the venue

   Content development

  • Develop and share media profiles for spokesperson interviews and anticipated talking points
  • Develop and share panelist profiles for event participation
  • Coordinate for information with teams on ground – Revenue, Commercial, HR etc
  • Support in development of press material – news releases, articles etc
  • Support in developing and posting external content on digital channels
  • Support in developing and disseminating internal content and executing internal townhall/ events

Campaigns support

  • Support Communications team in executing campaigns in focus markets

Coverage/ impressions reporting

  • Share complied coverage update for events/ campaigns/ press releases
  • Create monthly media measurement reports
  • Create regional reports around market context for senior leadership
  • Update global and regional communications calendars

Construction QA/QC-HSE Manager, Chenega, Jiddah, KSA

 

Overview

The Construction QA/QC – HSE Manager shall provide leadership, directs, supervises, and manages all activities related to quality assurance, quality control, as well as health, safety, and environment for the project to ensure contract compliance

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a multi-national team in the performance of their duties in reference to QA/QC and HSE.
  • Supervise and maintain 100% accountability for all assigned staff.
  • Maintain thorough familiarity with all the provisions of the contract documents, including submittals.
  • Prepare and administers the Activity Hazard Analysis, and the Accident Prevention Plan
  • Monitor methods and procedures employed to ensure conformance with contract policies and government regulations
  • Implement and ensure compliance with CWS policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate subordinate personnel and initiate and approve all personnel actions.
  • Establish internal procedures with site team member to ensure contract compliance.
  • Ensures the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR)’s satisfaction for contract compliance in reqards to the quality and safety of the works.
  • Ensure the preparation and distribution of QA/QC and HSE record keeping and reports per the contract deliverables and as requested by customer.
  • Ensure that plans and specifications include all revisions, changes, and amendments.
  • Ensure site offices, lay-down/storage areas, temporary works, housekeeping, etc are maintained in an organized manner and professional appearance.
  • Coordinate and ensure contract compliance for QA/QC and HSE from all General Contractors (GCs) and subcontractors.
  • Conduct mentoring, training and performance evaluations for QA/QC and HSE staff.
  • Closely monitor the CQC program to assure that the 3-phase control system is being correctly performed
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. 
  • Assists the Project Manager in the Weekly Progress Meetings to monitor and manage KPIs for Safety and Quality compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
    • BS Degree preferred (Construction Mgmt or Engineering)
  • 5+ years successful experience in a similar capacity, on a similar/relevant project/s.
  • International experience with USACE type construction contracts, and/or US State Dept (OBO) projects required.
  • Required to adhere to Chenega Corporation mandate that all employees must be fully vaccinated to COVID-19 by December 8, 2021.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance Strong technical and communication skills, with excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to adapt to changing requirements
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and collaborate on a daily basis with the project team.
  • Proficient in construction documentation and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction, divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
  • Through knowledge and implementation of USACE EM3851-1 and the USACE’s Contractor Quality Control process and procedures.
  • Experience in report writing and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 years of operational or commercial experience within the airline or air freight industry
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proven senior influencing and relationship management skills to balance and manage diverse stakeholder interests
  • Good attention to details with efficient time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong knowledge of contract drafting and administration
