What You Will Do

    Participate in all hospitality project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production

Your Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
    8+ years of related project experience within the hospitality practice area

    Proficiency in 2D/3D software, such as CAD, Revit, 3d Studio MAX, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
    Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The job holder will be responsible for the conceptualisation of retail store drawings as well as the detailed interior design of retail stores. In this capacity, the Architect is expected to develop, coordinate and produce working drawings and details for stores, as conceptualized by (Senior) Projects Manager in the form of sketches or specifications. The candidate shall also be responsible for development of retail shop fittings and presentations of designs.

DO — Key Responsibilities

1. Layouts and Planning

    Understand and develop the store design plans based on the area allocations received from the Corporate and as per the conceptual design provided by the Senior Architect / Senior Projects Manager at the Concept.
    Understand the requirements of various departments in the store and the issues related to the different types of merchandise in each department
    Understand various shop fittings and their design implications
    Preparing Store design drawings using Sketchup, Photoshop, renderings & translating it into detail presentations.
    Periodic site visits, preparation of measure drawings & as built details.
    Design Coordination for brands & shop-fittings
    Develop conceptual 3D’s / models / mock ups of various critical areas, new developments within the proposed shop and various shop for the better understanding of the retail team
    Develop complete architectural construction and design documents for the showroom that will include a comprehensive floor plan(s), exterior elevations, interior elevations, details, perspectives, sections, A/c diffuse allocation, lightning, graphic imaging (3D Presentation) and all material selections and finishes using Computer aided design, AutoCAD
    Ensure that plans contain pictorial representations, sketches and pictures of the final layout of the shop
    Ensure that all the designs and drawings are as per the company standards
    Ensure that all the drawings and designs are clear, concise, comprehensive, and complete

2. Flooring, Ceiling, Electrical and Lighting Design Drawings

    Understand and develop detail drawings for the following, with focus on cost, quality and durability:
    Shop fittings layout
    Partition plans
    Electrical and lighting layouts
    Coordinated MEP drawings and
    All relevant local shop fitting detail
    Supervise and modify drawings of fit-outs so as to help prepare the quotation and to help the fitters on site during installation
    Review and verify drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy
    Monitor the survey of sites and prepare follow up plans for any kind of installation as necessary

 

3. Design Coordination & Monitoring

    Coordinate on all project issues with the team of fellow Architects, Corporate Architects.
    Coordinate with the Projects team on all on site issues as per the guidelines of the Project Manager
    Develop all coordination drawing integrating the HVAC / MEP details and services as received from the Corporate or Consultant
    Prepare all reports and flow charts as per projects requirements
    Submit all drawings, details and reports to the relevant Teams / Mall management within the stipulated time frame
    Regularly monitor the working of the CAD operators / Draftsmen

4.Customer Experience

    Store environment & layout to be executed in a way that enhances customer experience
    Implement & manage measures to monitor customer satisfaction & service levels
    Implement initiatives to improve customer experience
    Utilise available customer analytics to order to enhance customer experience
    Regularly engage with team members to discuss & agree ways of improving customer experience

5.People Management

    Develop and mentor subordinates to move to the next higher level of job through career planning
    Ensure compliance to Company policies and values

6.Miscellaneous

    Build and share knowledge of the latest retail design trends and computer aided technologies available
