About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the commercial and technical delivery of high-profile projects. This role involves full project lifecycle management, from initial planning through to execution and completion, all while ensuring alignment with our quality and risk management standards. On larger projects, you may take on the role of Project Manager or Project Director. You will also be responsible for managing and producing proposals, and building strong client relationships to support ongoing and future work.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
- Lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring successful outcomes from kick-off to completion, in line with Mott MacDonald’s processes and procedures.
- Establish and maintain robust systems for managing project cost, schedule, scope, quality, and controls.
- Implement effective information management procedures across the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all safety and quality standards are met, working closely with the Health and Safety Manager to communicate risk plans and prevent hazards.
- Monitor progress against key milestones and report on delivery status.
- Prepare monthly client reports and deliver progress presentations.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of bids, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Review compliance with the Group’s management system and report findings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally, especially with key clients.
Candidate Specification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Relevant experience, preferably in a design consultancy or similar environment.
- Professional qualification or membership in a recognized engineering or project management institution is preferred.
- Proven experience in planning, organizing, and managing complex projects.
- Strong practical approach to project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Project Management certifications are advantageous.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
- Comfortable presenting to and engaging with clients.
- Willingness to travel for short-term assignments. #LI-SA2
