Atkins we are currently looking for a Design Manager – Engineering (Buildings) in UAE.
Responsibilities
As a member of the Building Design team, you will be involved in real projects from day one, with exposure to some of the most demanding projects. We encourage vision, problem-solving, ambition, enthusiasm and drive. We recognize that people are the key to our success and we ensure that we provide them with a varied workload and encourage them to extend themselves in order to reach their potential.
Represent Atkins on a daily basis to our Client, the Contractor & the Stake holders
Experience on design would be advantageous.
An understanding of all MEP & Engineering and to coordinate within the spatial constraints of a project is essential.
Strong communication skills will be required to interact with project stakeholders, where necessary explaining our designs and providing direction to our design team.
Commercial awareness essential with an understanding and ability to administer Change Control.
Requirements
B.E / B. Tech or M.E / M. Tech Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree from a recognized University.
15 years’ experience in projects
The ability to think laterally and possess a sound understanding of engineering principles. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and will be able to build and develop relationships, both internally and externally.
Experience on major projects would be advantageous.
Previous experience of leading multi-disciplinary design teams and responsibilities for budgets and programming
Commercial awareness essential with an understanding and ability to administer Change Control.
Strong communication skills will be required to interact with project stakeholders

Ability to apply technical knowledge in analyzing problems and creating solutions
Able to work and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Flexible approach to work
Ability to work on your own initiative
Strong attention to detail and ability to make correct judgments
Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments.
Aspiration to grow with responsibility and to manage a growing team of skilled engineers
Ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
Well motivated and able to work as part of a team or on individual assignments when required
