Job Summary.
Provide clients with professional Quotations / Bids which are technically compliant and commercially competitive and to work as part of a team to ensure on-time bid submission. Act as subject matter expert (SME) to sales team and territorial customers on Progressive cavity pump & Horizontal pumping system applications and requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out initial technical review of client requirements and specifications to define engineering design inputs
- Responsible for creation of techno/commercial proposals for bids across Production and Flow Technology –portfolio of products that includes Reciprocating Pump, PCP, MPP and HPS.
- Responsible for gathering technical input and responses to RFQs with manufacturing, engineering, applications, and sales disciplines for PFT product lines.
- Work closely with customer to understand the business requirement for the proposal to develop effective work relationships and management processes for the projects.
- Attend technical bid Clarification & commercial review meetings and engage with customers to ensure the quote meets customer requirements and expectations with revised tender or clarifications as requested by Client(s)
- Submit technical requisition documents for subcontractor or sub-vendor engineering scope
- Collaborate with drafters/designers on design tasks. Function as lead on tasks of high complexity assignment.
- Ensure all the bids are handled in accordance with client requirements. Set deadlines to achieve submission dates, plan and organize workload to ensure that all deadlines are achieved.
- Knowledge and understanding of Non-standard terms and conditions, Bid bonds, Performance guarantees, Application of products, customer inspection needs with special contract requirements
- Adopting a proactive approach to identify risks related to project success.
- Interact with vendors that supply products/services to ensure design is in accordance with bid/project specification
- Work with NOV operations and manufacturing facilities to identify product improvements
- Review client’s PO’s and process the handover of orders with the relevant project execution team.
- Be conversant and ensure packages meet industry leading quality standards like ISO, API, ASME, ATEX, SIL etc.,
- Understanding electrical schematics & electrical installation details, panel layouts for low and medium voltages (soft starter, VFD, motor control centers, lighting & PLC/automation cabinets)
- Be fully familiar and fully conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions conducted are agreement with the standards of the company.
- Provide support to other departments such as Manufacturing, Customer Service, construction, and Engineering to carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by the line manager
- Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
(Education/No. of Years of Experience)
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical field or equivalent
- 5+ Years of experience with quotations, technical support, and troubleshooting of Progressive Cavity Pump Systems (PCP’s) and HPS – Horizontal pumping systems.
- Experience with the use of PCP Design software sizing, and selection
- Proven track record of building a solid and positive relationship with significant industry clients at various levels
- Demonstrates creativity, strategic thinking and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems, determining Client’s objectives and requirements
- Experience with preparing proposals for Pump packages – Particularly PCP, MPP and HPS.
- Fundamental knowledge of Pumps, Motors, Gearboxes, coupling, belt drive, hydraulic, pneumatic systems & control panels.
- Capable of managing multiple bids & multitasker
- Understanding of GAD, P&ID and basic instrumentations datasheets and electrical drawings
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Instrumentation with 10+ years of experience in Pump package proposals for PCP/MPP & HPS
- API 676, API 674, API 610 pumps, and horizontal pump package experience
- Field experience on installing both PCP, MPP and HPS systems.
- Experience with workshop preparation of PCP, MPP and HPS Packages.
- Oil & Gas equipment packaging experience in the Middle East
- Experience in an Oracle application, JDE preferred
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and mechanical concepts.
- Specific technical expertise in PCP, HPS & artificial lift technology.
- Experience in ERP systems – JDE, CRM, SAP & Oracle
- Knowledge and experience working with ASME/ISO/API
