Job Description
The key responsibilities of the role will be as follows:
Monitor and ensure MENA Securities sector's overall operations are effectively managed within budget, and report accurately on progress made, challenges encountered and corrective solutions to the CEO.
Drive the design of the department's overall development strategy in collaboration with the leadership
Ensure the development and monitoring of MENA Securities sector's business plan, strategic objectives and KPIs
Provide direction on the preparation and consolidation of the MENA Securities sector's manpower budget in line with their annual business plan
Guide the design and implementation of annual business plans for business growth and expansion of MENA Securities sector in accordance to the organisation's strategic direction
Direct, control and/or advice the process of portfolio/fund management that will guarantee the projected standards of risk and profitability
Oversee discretionary portfolio for clients of different sizes, monitor portfolio allocation and composition, and oversee the management of cash and securities including both debt and equities
Supervise key client portfolio performance including that of HNI & HNO clients to ensure that they meet performance & risk objectives and provide necessary recommendations on corrective measures, wherever necessary
Oversee and direct investment research activities & operations including equity, fixed income and quantitative research, to ensure that they meet performance & risk objectives and recommend corrective measures, wherever necessary
Lead strategic meetings with existing customers on a periodic basis to identify potential new business opportunities, oversee their queries and ensure quick and responsive service to client requests and inquiries
Guide collaboration with the Marketing & Corporate Communications Sector to ensure the generation of ideas and marketing initiatives for new business acquisition and developing revenue producing relationships
Review and discuss with the Investment committee on a monthly basis, the diversity and risk of the investment portfolio and provide recommendations.
Drive a culture of performance within the department by managing employee performances through mentoring as well as provision of regular feedback on performance improvement.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate should have the following:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in economics, management, finance, accounting or law from a reputed university
CFA/MBA/ACA/ACCA/CPA is a strong preference
A minimum of 20 years of portfolio management experience at a similar financial institution (bank/asset management/wealth management) with a minimum of 5 years of senior management experience.
Strong communication skills
Strong leadership skills and team management experience
