THE ROLE

The role will support the Regional Financial Controller MEA in on-going modelling and analysis of business performance, reporting, budgeting & forecasting for AFA region. The position requires not only the collection of data but more importantly financial support through the interpretation and analysis of the trends and interrelationships that allow informed business decisions to be made. Reporting to Regional Financial Controller, MEA (“RFC”), the Financial Controller, AFA will support the RFC in all aspects of Finance and Accounting within AFA region and be a strong business partner to the various business leaders within the Africa sub region and the leader of all aspects of the entity accounting and finance organization.

 

OPPORTUNITIES

You will prepare the scorecard for AFA subregion on a monthly basis including actuals review and rolling forecast.

You will supervise Services Business Controller, provide necessary support/mentoring to ensure revenue recognition meets iFRS and internal revenue recognition policy.

You will review project profitability and capacity planning prepared by Services Business Controller, to enable decision-making or help understand business drivers.

You will assist RFC in cash collection process, ensuring cash collection is maximised and risk minimised. Financial Controller is assisted by AFA credit controller.

You will support RFC on Internal Reviews ensure relevant financial/business issues are actioned.

You will ensure that all NWC are reviewed in a timely manner, appropriate measures are recorded, reported, and actioned.

You will prepare BV sheets for license and SaaS where required in accordance with iFRS 15.

You will ensure that journal entries are uploaded accurately by the SSC team.

You will improve visibility and demonstrate the importance of finance within the sub-region as Finance Business Partner.

You will, as part of a dynamic management team, you will supervise or interact with senior operational management, corporate finance, statutory controller, finance & accounting staff, business leaders, internal/external auditors and external professional advisors to ensure the organization is optimal in its compliance, reporting and financial management.

You will lead and inspire the finance department (including the shared services team) of AFA region.

You will ensure compliance to group internal controls and financial policies.

You will ensure compliance to all internal reporting requirements and timeline, i.e. monthly scorecards (variance analysis), monthly forecast reviews and annual budget.

You will improve processes and financial modelling.

You will project lead or participate in ad-hoc projects as required by region or group finance. Such as Integration of acquired business, process improvements and efficiencies.

 

SKILLS

You should have around 10 years' experience in Finance/Control/Accounting.

You should possess at least a Bachelor of Accountancy (Finance, Business Administration).

You should possess strong business acumen.

You should have a proven track record in Finance Business Partnering and stakeholder management.

You should have experience in strategic decision support.

You should have IFRS Knowledge especially relating to IT industry.

You should have an in depth understanding of Finance and Business Control requirements in an IT/Software Business Environment.

You should have advanced knowledge of MS Office suite of application (Excel, Access, ...) and advance knowledge of Oracle 11i.

You should have the ability to work and succeed in multi-cultural environment.

You should be able to articulate complex business / financial concepts in a clear and coherent way.

You should have the ability to drive positive business outcomes to meet targets.

You should have strong stakeholder management.

You should inspire others by their behaviour and strategic vision.

You should have a perfect command of English, English being the company’s business language.

You should have the capacity to work independently or on your own initiative.

You should be stress resistant, a team-player, proactive and results-oriented.

Ideally:

You should have an Accounting / Business Qualification.

You should have previous Financial Controller experience.

You should have a proven track record as Finance Business Partner and strong stakeholder management.

You should have experience in the software industry.

You should have extensive experience with Oracle.

You should have the ability to work under pressure, stress and tight timeline and deliver on due date.

OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:

To develop a set of systems to professionally organize the administration of the Rosewood Sales & Marketing operation, taking full account of Rosewood operating standards and to ensure that the management of databases, contracts, and operating files is in line with the best practice within the industry. To provide a seamless customer focused sales environment, where the customer is our central priority and our sales systems and effort reflect our passion to deliver world class customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the electronic and manual control of all sales related contracts, to ensure that all accounts up for renewal are properly identified and that contracts are maintained in a secure environment, with appropriate manual and that electronic back up is taken on a timely basis.

• Use Sales Force to update individual records and to provide reports on the request of the Director of Sales & Marketing. 

• Professionally respond to customer and prospect enquiries to ensure a professional and responsive service is provided by the department. This service must be able to be provided at weekends and during vacation periods. A system will be required to roster team members to handle administration during weekends. 

• Develop and amend PowerPoint presentation to reflect specific bespoke sales & events opportunities.

• Work with Opera to input new bookings and to check the reporting/ operating status. 

• Ensure that standards of communication, both internal and external is conducted in polished well-structured English and the close attention is given to spelling and grammar.

• To prepare the formatting of monthly sales reports and marketing plans in accordance with the direction of the Director of Sales & Marketing. 

• Review of competition (competitive set) website content on monthly basis. 

• Involvement in the research and administration of the pre-opening business plans, annual business plans and a range of planning documents as defined by the Director of Sales & Marketing. 

• All other administrative and project related duties to Sales, Marketing and Catering departments.

OSHAD RESPONSIBILITIES:

While at work, (and while on work premises) an associate shall:

• Take reasonable care of their own health and safety.

• Take reasonable care of the health and safety of a person and the workplace, that may be affected by their acts or omission at work;

• Cooperate with full compliance with Hotel’s developed OSHMS policies, OSHMS procedures & operational works instruction in order to protect the health and safety of the people.

• Report to immediate supervisor any situation which they have reason to believe could present a hazards and which they cannot themselves correct;

• Report all OSH incidents and work related injuries; and

• Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided (e.g. Equipment & machineries, PPE, etc.) at the Hotel’s workplace in the interest of health, safety, welfare or protection or management of the workplace.

• Participate in conduct of OSH related planning and implementation in order to achieve the Hotel’s OSH objectives, targets & program.

• Attend all training arranged by Hygiene, Health & Safety Manager such as OSH training, safety Induction, on the job training, tool box talks, etc.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Held accountable and committed whatever it takes to comply with the company’s OSHMS Policies, OSHMS Procedure, & Operational Works Instruction and any other relevant legislation applies within the organization.

• Held accountable to take care of his own health and safety, other person in the workplace that may be affected by their acts or omission at work.

• To report to his supervisor or respective Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience: Previous experience in Administration in a Hotel Sales Environment.

• Education: Preferred to Degree level / Diploma level acceptable.

• General Skills:    Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.

• Technical Skills: Strong administration and organizational skills, clear and precise use of written and spoken English, conversant with technology including Sales Force, Power point, Opera, Microsoft Office.

To build with the team Solutions Architect for Complex Cases across the Region.

Provide Solutions updates through Webinar and Seminars as needed.

To define the KPI’s which required to measure the performance of System Engineers and Implementation Specialists across the direct Ops.

Draw an escalation Process for Canon Solutions Portfolio and to monitor the progress of those escalation until closing

Escalation point for trouble shooting on any projects.

Main contact with Ntware to provide technical Information for NSO’s

Visit end-user premises to investigate and resolve problems as necessary.

Evaluate, prioritize and respond to field suggestions and written enquiries.

Take overall technical responsibility for assigned Solutions.

Provide technical assistance and support to Training Courses, Exhibitions and Seminars carried out by other departments of RSO as required.

Attend training courses on nominated solutions as required.

Maintain and update training records.

Interview & hiring of new competent employees

Providing smooth induction along with HR

Identifying trainings to upskills staff along with HR

Regularly evaluate employees to determine how well they are fulfilling their job & whether they are meeting company standards for professionalism, attendance, & work performance.

Supervise all staff members to determine how well they function in their jobs on a day-to-day basis.

Maintains the service staff job results by counselling & disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, & appraising job results

Provide coaching where necessary

What we ask

Must have/be:

Engineering Degree “Computer or Communication”

Office Solutions Experience 5 Years Plus

Uniflow and Therefore Experience

Uniflow Advanced Diagnostic Certified

Able to communicate, at times involving complex technical information, to individuals at all levels, internally and externally.

High level of Customer Centric attitude.
