Your Job:

As a Civil Engineer, you are responsible for project management, professional/technical engineering, engineering design and review, standards survey work, inspections and using engineer software applications.

 

Other duties and responsibilities:

• Prepares and approves designs for projects in accordance with general engineering principals and standards; determines scope, designs, prepares drawings, specifications, bidding documents, contracts, and cost estimates for projects; conducts and coordinates design and construction surveying.

• Conducts construction inspections, reviews and approves contractor pay requests; reviews and processes construction change orders.

• Provides design data for surveying, and engineering applications using (CAD); word processing; spread sheet;), and uses appropriate computer hardware; responsible for the data input and production of digital maps, surveys, engineering drawings, and special database reports.

• Determines selection criteria and works with purchasing staff to select engineering consultants and contractors; specifies parameters and determines scope of work for consultants and contractors; reviews and approves work conducted by consultants; reviews and approves consultants pay requests.

• Provides technical assistance and consults with other departments regarding engineering functions.

Your skills and experience:

• Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles.

• Strong communication skills.

• Excellent command of English language (written and oral).

• Well-developed problem solving skills.

• Civil Engineering BSc degree.

• Previous experience in civil engineering field.

Job Description

·         Liaising with the Senior Adventure Guide to determine bookings and any special requirements for guests and visitors.

·         Greeting visitors and guests as they arrive at the resort and providing a basic resort briefing.

·         Ensuring factual knowledge is imparted to visitors and guests regarding the history and future development of the resort; its animals, plants and trees, bird life, archeological heritage and (if applicable) marine life.

·         Guiding and delivering tourism activities incorporating (but not limited to) archery, mountain biking, swimming, snorkeling,  kayaking, cycling, sunset boat trips, wild life drives and all other related tourism activities as directed by the Activities and Recreation Manager.

·         Safely using all equipment, vehicles and consumables related to the delivery of tourism activities, and the maintenance of such equipment.

·         Ensuring that visitors are safe and that hazards or potential hazards are mitigated and reported to management.

·         Ensuring that safety requirements are adhered to by visitors, including the supply and correct use of all personal protective equipment for both themselves and guests appropriate to the activity being undertaken, including the completion of all related safety briefings and indemnity related paperwork.

·         Maintaining a high level of physical fitness commensurate with the tourism activities being delivered.

·         Maintaining a level of customer service skills and behavior commensurate with a 5* resort.

·         Escorting VIPs, familiarization groups and media and in doing so be an ambassador for the resort and Anantara.  In the case of media visits, these will be conducted in conjunction with the Marketing/PR Department.

·         Maintaining at all times the cultural sensitivity of various nationalities.

·         Gathering statistical information from guests & visitors in relation to the quality of their experience and providing feedback to management in relation to guest requests and/or suggestions.

·         Any other duties associated with the position in order to meet the needs of the business

POSITION SUMMARY

 Respond and attend to guest repair requests. Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio). Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Display advanced ability to read standard blue prints and electrical schematics concerning plumbing and HVAC. Display above average engineering operations skills and strong general mechanical ability. Display proficiency in at least three of the following categories, above average skills in three more of the following categories and basic skills in the remaining categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building management. Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks. Safely perform highly complex repairs of the physical property, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration and pool heaters - ensuring all methods, materials and practices meet company standards and Local and National codes - with little or no supervision. Troubleshoot and perform repairs on all types of equipment (e.g., pump and motor replacement), plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners, HVAC equipment, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and program TV's. Perform advanced troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Display the ability to train and mentor other engineers as necessary.
