Job Description

Our client, an international construction firm, is looking for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager  to be based in Abu Dhabi. The chosen candidate will be expected to undertake the following:

 

    Review the contract documents for each Construction Package in respect of Safety requirements and procedures and advise the Construction Manager of any deficiency.
    Review and advise the Project Director/Manager on-site safety organizations and key personnel CVs as submitted by the Contractors.
    Develop and implement Health & Safety Systems.
    Continually improving Health and Safety implementation across the project by providing direction and guidance to our client, along with assessing the effectiveness of the Safety Management System and take part in the annual review.
    Perform Risk Assessment as deemed necessary.
    Ensure all activities on site are in compliance with safety procedures in respect of the format signed off by Safety Officer.
    Ensure Safety Staff on site are adequate and report to the Project Director in case of a shortfall. Ensure team members on-site are following safety procedures and report to Project Director in case of deficiency.
    Participate in weekly meetings and monthly executive meetings.
    Coordinate with other HSE Managers to ensure that HSE policy is implemented.
    Participate with PM staff in reviewing and assessing the Closeout Report.
    Oversee and monitor the HSE performance of the Contractor and CSC
    Undertake on site monitoring of HSE performance
    Lead HSE meetings on project
    Cooperate with all parties involved and ensure HSE is a priority for all
    Assist the CSC with the management of HSE on project
    Report on HSE issues on behalf of the PMC as required
    Other tasks as assigned.


Requirements

Our client is looking for an individual who will be able to demonstrate 15 years’ of experience acquiring prior experience working on major projects, leading multi-national teams holding a NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent certification. Other criteria required for this role include:

    A Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Engineering or any relevant field.
    Minimum 15 years in relevant experience.
    A professional health and safety certification, such as NEBOSH is required.
    Excellent command of written and spoken English.
    In depth knowledge of Emirati culture.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The Project HSE Manager is responsible for the management of project HSE delivery, reporting directly to the Project Manager and functionally to the HSE Manager (Middle East Business Unit).

The Project HSE Manager role includes accountability, and expectations to provide HSE support to the respective Project Management Team. The role as allocated by the Middle East Business Unit HSE Manager may also be expected to support the Win side of the business through the preparation of HSE tender submissions.

Furthermore, the Project HSE Manager is expected to undertake an active and visible role in the day to day oversight of project safety performance, and to ensure that the Subsea 7 Safety Value is delivered consistently during project execution.

All Subsea 7 personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to HSEQ management system requirements; and shall contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to the Subsea 7 Code of Conduct.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

Key Responsibilities & Activities

    Work with the HSE Manager (Middle East Business Unit), and HSE function, to ensure consistent delivery of HSE across the project
    Support the Subsea 7 Work Safe & Home Safe framework, by ‘setting the tone’ and leading by example
    Support the Middle East Business Unit and Asia Pacific Middle East Region’s HSE objectives, strategies and initiatives
    Actively drive HSE and operational improvement performance on project
    Develop and maintain project HSE documentation and programs and monitor implementation throughout the project

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The job holder will be responsible for the conceptualisation of retail store drawings as well as the detailed interior design of retail stores. Layouts and Planning

    Understand and develop the store design plans based on the area allocations received from the Corporate and as per the conceptual design provided by the Senior Architect / Senior Projects Manager at the Concept.
    Understand the requirements of various departments in the store and the issues related to the different types of merchandise in each department
    Understand various shop fittings and their design implications
    Preparing Store design drawings using Sketchup, Photoshop, renderings & translating it into detail presentations.
    Periodic site visits, preparation of measure drawings & as built details.
    Design Coordination for brands & shop-fittings
    Develop conceptual 3D’s / models / mock ups of various critical areas, new developments within the proposed shop and various shop for the better understanding of the retail team
    Develop complete architectural construction and design documents for the showroom that will include a comprehensive floor plan(s), exterior elevations, interior elevations, details, perspectives, sections, A/c diffuse allocation, lightning, graphic imaging (3D Presentation) and all material selections and finishes using Computer aided design, AutoCAD
    Ensure that plans contain pictorial representations, sketches and pictures of the final layout of the shop
    Ensure that all the designs and drawings are as per the company standards

Flooring, Ceiling, Electrical and Lighting Design Drawings

    Understand and develop detail drawings for the following, with focus on cost, quality and durability:
    Shop fittings layout
    Partition plans
    Electrical and lighting layouts
    Coordinated MEP drawings and
    All relevant local shop fitting detail
    Supervise and modify drawings of fit-outs so as to help prepare the quotation and to help the fitters on site during installation
