Summary:

Project Manager will be assigned to the jobsite in a managerial position.  He is responsible for the organization and direction of construction activities within his jobsite.  He may coordinate with client’s resident representatives on his jobsite.  He is responsible to ensure that his jobsite operations are in compliance with the issued design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.

He shall provide technical and administrative direction to his Construction Manager / superintendents, field engineers, coordinators, administrators and others, assigned to his jobsite.

 

Project Manager shall be responsible to maintain a relationship with ADA & RMTC representatives on site, H.O. Engineering, subcontractors, suppliers, project management and project functions (ES&H, Security, QA/QC, FE, Procurement & Contracts, Project Controls, etc…) and local government authorities as required.

 

Responsibilities:

Responsible for jobsite operations including onsite activities of CWJV, TS, subcontractors, suppliers, ADA & RMTC representatives and Local authorities. 

Project Manager shall be responsible to insure ES&H, Security, quality and schedule of his jobsite is maintained.

Responsible for the field workforce organization to ensure the jobsite organization is comprised of qualified and knowledgeable personnel, and ensures effective personnel utilization. 

Responsible for overall supervision of personnel on his jobsite including:

Review the staffing plans and makes recommendation to Delivery Director (DD) to meet the objectives of the scope

Review resumes of key personnel assigned to his area of responsibility

Establishes, coordinates and implements construction schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.

Controls jobsite expenditures in assigned area for labor, equipment, material and services and ensures field operations are within budget.

Ensures performance evaluations are conducted on assigned personnel and counselling programs are maintained.

Ensures subordinate personnel receive progressive training to enable them to assume additional responsibilities.

Responsible for craft resources as assigned and coordinates the activities with his direct reports /managers and CWJV hub craft resources department.

Administers his jobsite security plan and coordinates the activities with CWJV security department.

Responsible for administration of assigned area(s) contractual activities.  Participates in contracts and subcontracts negotiations.

Plans and implements procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules and budget.

Responsible for coordination of construction operations to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.

Maintains relationships with the client and their representatives, as assigned.

Ensures that CWJV and local/national regulatory safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with in assigned area of responsibility.  Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into all aspects of construction operations.  Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings.  Make daily project walks to insure ES&H standards are being maintained.

Implements Six Sigma tools, analysis, and decision-making in the executive of duties.

Ensures CWJV policies and procedures are fully implemented. 

Make recommendation to the DD for safety inspections and QA Audits.

Prepare want lists for H.O. Engineering and CWJV Hub for material and drawing needs.

Coordinate with counterpart in CWJV over interface issues and construction priorities.

Review adequacy of construction equipment and make recommendations to DD if equipment available or planned does not meet schedule requirements.

Review progress on weekly basis and advise DD of concerns.

Keep DD fully informed of significant activities /violations:

ES&H, Security & Quality

Progress Milestone status

Material Deliveries

Engineering document needs

Manual and non-manual staffing status.

Job Knowledge:

Knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to field activities of engineering disciplines, construction technologies and jobsite management.

 

Administrative:

Approve time sheets for personnel assigned to him by deadlines of each month or earlier

Allocate vehicles among personnel assigned to him to suit project needs.

Coordinate R & R and Home Leave Schedules for personnel assigned to him to insure proper coverage of work at all times.  Reviews schedule with DD monthly.

Provide input to weekly and monthly progress reports for CWJV.  Input required noon Saturday of each week.

Participate in weekly site meetings with Subcontractors.

Review CWJV staffing plan with DD on a monthly basis.

Chairs the daily “Plan of the Day” (POD) with his site team and communicates the critical /key issues daily to the DD

Chairs progress review meeting with Subcontractors.

Prepares employee evaluations of personnel assigned to him

Assigns responsibility for construction input for historical report.
