Packaging Buyer / Procurement site Lead Kaec, Sanofi, Jeddah, KSA

POSITION SUMMARY

Localize, implement and execute category strategies following guidance from global category management and GBU management for Sanofi Sites.

Execute and implement global/regional/country contracts following guidance from category management.

Ensure Procurement business partnership with sites management team.

Maintain the right level of partnership with the suppliers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES FOR THIS JOB

Support Global/Regional and lead local execution of the pre-defined categories’ strategy

Proactively contribute to provide information to Regional or Global Category Managers on local business needs and supplier market intelligence

Select region suppliers base as per category strategy (preferred vendors), and local country requirements.

Define list of non-preferred suppliers compliant with global category guidelines.

Source and manage interactions with preferred suppliers.

Handle enquiries related to commercial matters

Accountable for supplier Master Data accuracy and maintain right purchase price info (PIR) in SAP

Lead process to ensure consistent accuracy of data (incl. payment terms); initiate deactivation of suppliers not used; initiate blocking/unblocking of suppliers

Manage and monitor pre sourced solutions (sourcing platform)

Negotiate and manage process to put in place for pre-source solutions

Guide the operational Buying/Purchasing process for purchases above the Buyer threshold

Challenge business requirements (buy better, buy less)

Conduct bidding (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and negotiate above the Buyer threshold

Select or involved in the selection of supplier with best offer in partnership with business stakeholders. 

Negotiate contracts, optimize existing agreements (buy cheaper)

Follow-up Key Performance Indicators, deliver savings objectives

Manage both every day and exceptional risks along the supply chain to deal with risks and uncertainties caused by, or impact on, logistics related resources or activities in the supply chain

 Master Procurement technical excellence (TCO, SRM, Market Intel, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance, quality…).

As a PSL (Procurement Site Lead), to collaborate with procurement peers to ensure coordinated business partnering with KAEC site business stakeholders applying an end to end view  In Industrial Affair perimeter.

Innovation Sourcing: scanning of the solutions available on the market and coming from preferred suppliers

Categories scope: Packaging, Capex & logistic

Geographic scope: Kaec Site (Saudi Arabia)

As a member of Kaec site leadership team, involved in site management activities, such as management meeting etc.

Work and collaborate with KSOL (Key Supplier Operation Lead) to deliver & implement savings project

Follow HSE rules and ‘Act responsibly’ to protect yourself and others from an injury and ill health conditions while at the work locations and/or while using road e.g traffic rules, emergency evacuation procedure, medical surveillance, healthy lifestyle etc.

Follow the company’s road safety program. 

Attend HSE training and implement the learnings.

Participate in the HSE related activities, campaigns, events etc. and adopt the learning in day to day work activities.

Report all the accident/ incident (if any) to the Line Manager and the HSE Manager, and help to investigate further.

Thoroughly read all HSE instructions, procedures, policies issued by the Company, and comply with its requirements. Escalate any doubts or uncertainties to the Line Manager.

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree in procurement or  Supply Management and/or Engineering or Science

MBA preferred

EXPERIENCE

Ideally 5 years of professional experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or related field(s).

Technical knowledges and interest in packaging fields (plastic, paper, metal, glass)

Pharmaceutical background or experience is preferred.

HIRING LOCATION

Positions open in Kaec, Saudi Arabia

We encourage a balanced working time between on-site presence and remote work, with minimum 3 days per week at site.

Build and maintain strong interfaces and collaborations with other departments like finance, supply, legal, quality / regulatory, engineering, Science, Critical Material Management …

Reinforce and develop supplier knowledge, their capacities and strategies

Languages

English - Written/Spoken Fluent

Arabic - fluent

Travel

 < 15% with some overnight may be required.  

Computer Knowledge

Procurement and Strategic Sourcing Background helpful

Working knowledge of ERP systems (i.e. SAP) and financial practices

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with emphasis on strong MS Excel skills

Preferred demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures

Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills

Strong analytical skills including cost analysis

Strong financial analysis skills
