Section Head-Building Permits
Responsible for
To carry out the required inspections for EC &FZ for ADPorts as part of building permits department. review the design, specifications, design report and all calculations submitted with the original permit application, and all subsequent revisions thereto.
Working Relationship
· Prepare engineering designs from conceptual design, through tender to construction.
· Shall review the design, specifications, design report and all calculations submitted with the original permit application, and all subsequent revisions thereto.
· Shall review the submitted design for compliance with the structural and foundation design provisions of the Abu Dhabi international Building Code (ADIBC) and all related structural codes and technical standards, and Abu Dhabi Municipality regulations.
Objectives and Role Profile
· Review geotechnical and other engineering investigations that are related to the foundation and structural design and confirm that the design properly incorporates the results and recommendations of the investigations.
· Confirm that other structural design criteria and design assumptions conform to the applicable codes and are in accordance with generally accepted engineering practice and confirm that the design loads conform to the applicable codes.
· Verify that performance-specified structural components (such as Steel structure, certain precast concrete elements) have been appropriately specified and coordinated with the Primary Building Structure.
· Review the structural and architectural drawings for the building to confirm that the structural drawings are in general conformance with the architectural plans regarding loads and other conditions that may affect the structural design.
· Confirm that major mechanical items are accommodated in the structural drawings.
Key Tasks and Performance Indicators

· Shall attend or invite for reviewing/discussion meeting with the applicant for design verifications and comments.
Qualifications/Experience/Competencies
· Graduated/Bachelor in Civil/Structural Engineering
· Ability to communicate optimally at all levels within multi discipline design teams.
· A sound knowledge of Engineering Principles and ability to design using all common building materials.
· A sound knowledge of construction process.
· Technical report writing and documentation skills.
· Compliant and updated on Abu Dhabi regulations.
