Want to be a part of a fabulous team? Our BV Solutions organization within Marine & Offshore is looking for a Risk & Safety Engineer. The position is located within our Dubai office in the United Arab Emirates. S/he will be welcomed in a supportive and continuous learning environment.
Responsibilities:
S/he will be responsible for technical development and management support to consultancy services - risk studies, risk evaluations, and inspections, risk workshops.
Risk Engineer Lead; Carrying Out Various Risk and Safety Analyses,
Gather and compile relevant data from drawings and relevant documentation relating to design and operations,
Identify potential accidental events that may lead to fatalities occurring in order to select failure cases for quantitative modeling,
Assess the emergency system with respect to its criticality, vulnerability, redundancy/diversity, and potential failure mode(s) in the emergency situation,
Assess the effectiveness of key functions (eg: detection of incidents, notification to personnel, escape from the scene, mustering at a safe location & evacuation from the platform) in terms of their ability to ensure safe escape, evacuation, and rescue,
Knowledge to carry out HSE Case Studies, Formal Safety Assessments (QRA, EERA & ESSA), HAZID and HAZOP analysis, and preparing Risk Matrices,
Focal person for the project team developing Fire and Explosion Risk Analysis (FERA), Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), Escape, Evacuation, and Rescue Analysis (EERA), Dropped Object Study, Assist in other technical support duties as assigned,
Participate in meetings (both internal and external) as required,
Communication with clients (Class, Flag, Owners, Shipyards, ship managers, and vendors,)
Experience with other LNG CCS would be a plus.
Competencies:
Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture/ Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering,
Min. 7 years of experience, in Risk and Safety Studies, project management, marine consultancy, and engineering services companies, with track experience in Risk and Safety Studies,
Good knowledge of sea-going ships, vessel operations, New Builds, Class, and Statutory Rules,
Team player and a self-initiator,
Motivated and exhibits good initiative,
Ability to prioritize and manage workload,
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficient in English (written and spoken),
Proficient in technical digital tools use.
