JACOBS is one of the worlds largest and most diverse providers of technical and management services. We offer a full-spectrum of consultancy support to commercial, government and industrial clients across many sectors. Within our Utilities group our teams have a number of water related roles. These roles could comprise working on any or all of the following project stages:
- Concept stage design
- Front End Design
- Detailed design and/or review as required
- Configuration and configuration management
- Technical support and system rollout
- Commissioning testing and handover
- Maintenance support
We are looking to involve the right calibre of engineer in these interesting and challenging projects. Our Instrumentation Control and Automation (ICA) engineers are at the forefront of developing applications with our clients, linking real time field data and control systems to corporate IT to close the loop from process plant to desktop, to optimize processes, save energy and give visibility to security control and performance – known as Operational Technology (OT)
As a Senior ICA Engineer you could be working on wastewater treatment and clean water treatment projects, and OT systems. Responsibilities would include:
- Assisting or leading ICA/OT project teams
- ICA/OT lead for the design for projects and rollouts
- Completing scopes of work within agreed time frames
- Liaising with client project engineers and other design team members
- Assisting the programme Quality Manager and Project Manager to meet health and safety and overall project quality objectives
- Ensuring project financial performance within the electrical discipline budget on projects
- Develop and maintaining excellent relationships with other discipline leads on projects.
You should demonstrate a flexible approach to design and team working and will be involved with projects both local to the base office and other teams across the region.
You will have an understanding of other disciplines design concepts that are involved in electrical design, including structural, mechanical, architectural and ICA.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Be an incorporated Engineer (IET or similar) or equivalent from a systems IT background
- Be experienced in the design of instrumentation and process control systems, implementing new systems and modifying and maintaining existing systems
- Have experience of playing a lead role in ICA/OT design of projects and in completing scopes of work within agreed time frames and guidelines, from user requirement through rollout and commissioning, to benefits realisation.
- Have experience in the analysis and development of programmable and software based systems, including PLCs, SCADA systems, telemetry, telecoms and corporate (IT) systems
- Have proven ability to work as part of a team, liaising directly with client and other project team members
- Have experience of leading a successful team and will be familiar with current industry best practice
