Principal Logistics & Trade Comp Spec- Mcdermott, Khobar, KSA
Job Overview:
The Principal Logistic Specialist (Logistics Manager) will report to the KSA SCM Senior Manager and is responsible for MACL Interface and Relationship Management with Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health & Environment, Ministry of Oil, Ministry of Transportation, KSA Customs, Coast Guard and Port Authorities. Internally, this role has to work closely with all Saudi SCM subfunctions, Finance, Offshore Operations, Marine Logistics, Saudi Fabrication, Engineering and GROs.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Define the logistics strategy for the project execution in coordination with the Supply Chain Lead.
Define and execute Project Logistics Execution procedures with the reference to the relevant project procedures.
Managing Logistics Budgeting and Cost follow up.
Bid solicitation, award and execution of logistics transactions.
Negotiate with and manage the contractual relationship with the appointed Project logistics suppliers.
Manage and execute logistics related operational matters in line with project requirements and cost effectively.
Ensure mobilization and demobilization efforts for project cargo is carried out compliantly with relevant regulations.
Operate in accordance with all McDermott guidelines and procedures.
Manage the Project LTC staff and logistics operation in the Kingdom.
Oversee and coordinate all cargo movements in line with project requirement and in compliance with McDermott standards and procedures.
Ensure the operation are in line with the company policies in term of Trade Compliance.
Coordinate and manage cargo transportation activities for the project vessels and project cargo.
Review of project load lists and cargo classes to ensure Project compliance with all relevant regulations.
Liaise with internal/external stakeholders .
Report status and issues on regular basis to Senior Management.
Train the SCM Logistics & Trade Compliance, Procurement and Subcontracts personnel.
Monitor, negotiate, resolve and record all fines and penalties and report same immediately to Senior Management.
Maintain healthy relationships with KSA Service Providers (Freight Forwarder, Customs Brokers, Trucking) and carrier relationships (Air and Ocean).
Work on Duty exemptions, follow up and ensure duty exemptions are materialized.
Secure Dangerous Goods permits and SASO permits as required.
Work and maintain files on temporary Import duty refunds.
Monitoring and evaluate all Customs Brokers.
Logistics Audit and Compliance.
Out of Gauge and Critical packages project movements.
Review and update all existing SCM LTC procedures.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
10-15 years in Logistics and transportation field.
Experience in any major contractor or consultancy predominately in detailed engineering, Fabrication and Installation in the Oil & Gas industry is highly preferable.
