Purpose

Lead and direct Radio Access Network sourcing activities and coordinating sourcing resources across Ooredoo Group operating companies (OpCos).

This is a Group Procurement position
Role Accountabilities

Strategy definition:

    Manage the Radio Access Network (RAN) category, developing and executing centre-led sourcing strategies
    Interact with Group CxOs and OpCo leadership teams to define the RAN category sourcing roadmap for implementation of category sourcing initiatives.
    Manage the internal and external category profiling (i.e., spend analysis, demand analysis, supply market analysis) and identification of potential levers to lower total cost
    Support the Senior Director of Network Sourcing in defining category specific sourcing policies and procedures (e.g., single sourcing, supplier panels, etc.)
    Build strong collaborative networks and communicates with internal Group stakeholders and relevant OpCo stakeholders to ensure alignment on the category sourcing strategies

     

    Tendering and negotiation:
    Manage RAN category sourcing activities, supervising centre-led and locally-led sourcing teams
    Manage the tendering process, evaluation of submissions and selection of RAN suppliers
    Manage the development, negotiation and implementation of Group Sourcing Contracts (GSCs) on behalf of Group OpCos, leveraging the consolidated buying power of the Group.
    Conduct effective change management with stakeholders post-implementation to realise value from initiatives
    Manage contract change requests from OpCos and escalates to the head of Sourcing as appropriate

     

    Supplier relationship management (SRM):
    Support the development of suppliers' KPIs and scorecard and manages the collection of supplier performance data
    Manage the relationships with suppliers to drive improvements in supplier performance and conducts regular supplier reviews

     

    Performance reporting and compliance:
    Support the development of measurable category objectives and targets, and produces regular reports
    Promote compliance across Ooredoo Group on GSCs and Group policies, processes and procedures
    Own the Central Validation Desk (CVD) process and drive this across the OG and OpCo organisations

People management:

    Supervise Group Sourcing Buyers and local sourcing teams on category sourcing activities, provide guidance and support, monitor and prioritise workload
    Lead the Central Validation Desk team (CVD) for the RAN category

 
Experience

    Minimum 12 years relevant experience in the category domain on telecom operator or vendor side.
    Strong track record in managing this category and implementing sourcing strategies across multiple operating companies
    Strong track record in managing and negotiating with suppliers in relevant supplier markets within Telecommunications
    Strong track record of reducing Total Cost of ownership for Telecom operators
    Fluent in English (both written and verbal)
    Experience in MENA preferred

 

 
Qualifications

    Minimum bachelor degree qualification in telecom engineering or other relevant engineering and science discipline

    Preferably certified by a relevant professional body (e.g., CIPS, CPM) or qualified with a relevant Master’s degree (e.g., Supply Management) or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
