Job Description

To ensure a smooth and efficient operations of the SeaWorld Abu Dhabi facilities in Zoological Department by safely fulfilling the duties in animal/guest interactions, animal training, husbandry, enrichment, general public presentations, and research.

This position requires standing in a prolonged period, moves/lifts up to 25kgs of load; also requires to work in varying shifts based on business need. This includes: opening, mid, and closing shifts, nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Performs daily husbandry tasks including administration of vitamins and medication as directed.
  • Prepares food, provides proper nutrition and constant care of animals.
  • Maintains a safe, appropriate and sanitary living conditions for all animal habitats.
  • Applies proficient behavioral modification techniques. This includes, but is not limited in developing and implementing new behavior, training of naΓ―ve animals with minimum supervision, training behavior to completion without supervision, proactively maintaining conditioned behavior, and the ability to form relationships with most, if not all, of the animals in assigned area.
  • Ensures guests, personal, and animals’ safety through constant monitoring of the behavioral precursors of potentially harmful behavior by both animals and people.
  • Assists on the training of colleagues and animals as directed by the leadership
  • Provides proactive guest services through guest interactions, pre and post shows, and responding to guest inquiries.
  • Performs assigned roles in education and general public programs, and guest interaction programs.
  • Makes daily observations of animals and reports any abnormalities to the leadership team.
  • Maintains all animal records, equipment, area responsibilities, and communication requirements on a daily basis.
  • Functions as Ambassador by displaying consideration, tolerance, cooperation, open communication, and reliability; maintains a consistent attitude, motivation, and ability to accept feedback.
  • Ensures all policies, guidelines, manuals and SOPs are followed at all times.
  • Consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations.
  • Delivers department trainings as well as completes all required trainings; ensures in maintaining professional development and competencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Open Water SCUBA certified
  • 2 years of relatable animal experience in a professional setting
  • Ability to successfully pass an area swim test within the first 60 days of hire
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Basic mathematical skill
  • Basic computer knowledge including MS Office and animal recording system
  • Demonstrate an understanding of marine mammal husbandry and training principles and techniques

Desirable:

  • College background in Psychology, Zoology or Biology is a plus
  • CPR/AED certified

Job Description

Accurately maintaining vessel wise books of accounts for the company including preparation and posting of journal entries, validation of accounts receivable & payables, SOA reconciliation.

Process suppliers' invoices and agents' disbursements for payments, check invoices relating to Brokerage Commissions

Raising Charter Hire invoices as per the agreement.

Updating and posting of voyage & charter income.

Preparation of monthly vessel income sheet

Attending queries from suppliers and following up with various departments on Vendor payments.  

Monitoring and reconciliation of actual direct income and expenses against budgets.  

Monthly Intercompany reconciliation, review of trial balances & vessel operating expenses.  

Ensuring up-to-date documentation for Audit purposes.

 

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be an independent, responsible professional who will be  performing accounting for the trading activities and operating cost of vessels

Skills & Qualifications

Qualified CA/CPA.

Minimum 5 years’ experience within shipping industry

Understanding of port invoicing, pricing, and procedures.

Combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles.

In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Hands-on experience with accounting ERP software packages.  Knowledge of Danaos a plus. Proficiency in MS Excel skills a must

About the Role

 

The Al Futtaim Group Transformation team, led by our Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) is a division within the group who adopt a wide approach for large scale sustainable improvement and restructuring programs, working across support functions and companies in Automotive, Retail, Real Estate, Contracting and Logistics. We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity as a 'Senior Strategy and Planning Manager' to join our Group Transformation team. This role would be an ideal fit for a talented Management Consultant who is looking to move into industry.

 

Key accountabilities include;

  • Facilitating the co-development of strategy and transformation plans for select divisions within the Group
  • Acting as the interface between the transformation office and select divisional presidents & Group directors
  • Challenging perceived wisdoms and entrenched ways of doing things to orchestrate major change towards new revenue streams/business models
  • Tracking quality, ROI and benefits realization on behalf of the CTO
  • Developing perspective on critical issues and required counter measures during delivery of key change programs

Candidate requirements

 

Education: Master’s level, preferably an MBA

 

Minimum Experience and Knowledge:

  • Previous experience working in either the Automotive, Insurance, Retail, Real Estate, Contracting or Logistics sectors.
  • 12+ years of professional experience, typically in strategy and program delivery across variety of businesses
  • Leadership experience and track record of managing high performing teams and developing talent

About the Role

As a Store Operations Manager, you’ll own the operations for our dark stores within an area, including building and leading our store teams, developing and improving operational processes, and feeding strategic inputs up to our central teams. This is a unique role with the opportunity to create genuine impact for the lives of everyday people in our region.

We’re looking for someone who is an operational wizard and can construct processes, from the ground up, which bring order to the chaos of a fast moving and dynamic business. What you‘ll do

  1. Store Operations: Own operational performance for all dark stores within your region. Analyse store performance and determine how we drive sales while nailing user experience. Balance your time between analytical and strategic thinking, and on-ground operations. Be willing to lend an extra hand to the store teams as necessary. 
  2. Develop & Optimise Processes: Monitor service experience and health, and in-store operations and challenges, to identify the biggest operational gaps, inefficiencies, and risks, and drive solutions in collaboration with various teams as required. To do so, you need to interpret and transform data into insights and break down operational and logistical problem statements to form tangible action plans. Scale this impact across markets by defining and driving implementation of best practices.
  3. Lead Teams: Hire, develop and motivate a team of dark store supervisors across cities.
  4. Product Development: Keep a keen eye out for new features to improve our operations and users' experience. Partner closely with Product Managers to understand and align the roadmap and individual features with business strategy commercial realities. Act to unblock any challenges to keep us moving at pace. 
  5. Program/Project Management: Be a resourceful, go-getting multitasker, supporting or driving large, cross-functional initiatives across a variety of areas (product, ops, sales, marketing, etc)
  6. Develop Relationships: Foster strong relationships with markets and functional teams to ensure efficient and productive working relationships. You will be the point person for your stores across various teams. 

What you’ll need

Successful candidates will have a passionate commitment to improving the lives of people, an insane focus on excellence and customer centricity, and a strong alignment with our core values and purpose. 

  • Relevant and proven experience in tech, operations, consulting, business intelligence, PMO and/or strategy. Ideally coming from a start-up background.
  • Solid stakeholder management and communication skills with exposure to senior partners, cross-functional teams and global teams
  • Strong analytical capabilities, mastery of Excel is required. Bonus points for technical ability in SQL.
  • Experience in defining solutions to complex, strategic topics with a deeply analytical and structured approach to issues
