Job Description

  • Provide legal counsel to the C-suite and other business functions.
  • Manage the relationship with external counsel, with a view to building your own team and weaning the firm off of outsourced legal services.
  • Build, review and refine contract templates to streamline the negotiations process.
  • Handle contract negotiations, and draft / review all contracts and agreements with business partners and investors.
  • Advise on effective corporate structuring and risk management strategies.
  • Assist the C-Suite in the legal operations for all sister companies within the larger family of start-ups.

The Successful Applicant

  • At least 10 years of experience in an in-house or external legal function.
  • Must have experience in the payments / fintech space.
  • Strong experience in a strategic and senior role, supporting business functions across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • Strong understanding of, and experience with, corporate law, procedures and regulations in the UAE and Middle Eastern jurisdictions.

About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for Assistant Manager eCommerce – Product to join the Brand & Digital Marketing Department in Jumeirah Group & Corporate office.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

•        Coordinate management and optimisation of multiple, multi-lingual digital products focusing on functional and eCommerce performance

•        Coordinate support / troubleshooting and requirement gathering:

o        Direct (via CMS or GTM-hack) or indirect (via development vendor) resolution of commercial, functional, and technical issues raised by colleagues or guests

o        Collect and leverage feedback from colleagues, guests, and vendors

•        Deliver continuous optimisation of numerous digital products:

o        Conduct regular audits, and leverage findings from user tests and digital analytics to understand product performance and identify improvement opportunities

o        Leverage A/B testing and Conversion Rate Optimisation tools to demonstrate performance uplift

•        Assist UX/UI lead in identifying and designing new/enhanced product features

•        Assist content lead with advanced CMS activities (adding a new hotel, de-flagging, adding new add-ons, implementing content personalisation, hacking/tweaking UI, etc.)

•        Manage functional aspects of an agile development lifecycle:

o        Roadmap and prioritisation of product backlog

o        Guidance and validation of user stories

o        Coordination with analytics for tracking and A/B testing

o        Sprint planning

o        UAT

o        Post-deployment impact analysis where possible

•        In partnership with the IT team and relevant vendors, maintain and enhance performance of website and app management systems across multiple digital products:

o        Speed and errors

o        Content management system (reliable, intuitive, efficient, etc.)

o        Translations (workflows and automation, not actual management of translation jobs, trouble-shooting connector issues)

Job Purpose

Manage the development and assessment of value creation of the assets development to improve the Return On Capital Employed (ROCE) for the company plants. Conduct studies and researches that optimize the products and technology outputs, and cost, quality and efficiency. Align business with innovation and operations to improve the overall ROCE of the product-business, develop strategic plans for assets, and identify asset development opportunities; i.e. growth, new products, variable costs optimization, etc.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

Strategic Project
•    Identify value creation projects and initiatives; i.e. new processes, technologies, synergies among plants, etc. to improve the company’s profitability.
•    Analyse and assess investments and divestments, through developing business cases and scenarios and analysis for the value chain.
•    Lead pre-studies and feasibility studies required to develop new projects, and identify new or changes in products’ processes to ensure synergy with the company’s existing and future operations.
•    Plan and cascade the implementation of asset integrity and development’ strategies for the new product to ensure aligned plans in place. 
•    Propose the Engineering and Technology Studies; i.e. process technology selection, feasibility studies, market studies, cost estimation, etc. 
Cost & Profitability
•    Own and lead the product development projects and major test runs for new outside of the operating window to ensure alignment with innovation centre and business.
•    Contribute to the identification of products and sourcing of intermediate chemicals, which is available around the accessible and profitable markets, as inputs for future studies.
•    Assess production costs and initiate cost improvement projects based on benchmark studies, and propose updates on the intermediate products and its balance for value creation opportunities.
•    Communicate with licensors of new technologies to identify new opportunities for asset development of the company.
•    Communicate and align the initiatives and updates with other technical and operations team that will contribute to the reduction of non-prime materials

Structural Quality Improvements 
•    Act as a steering manager for investment coming out of the business cases to ensure projects are delivered with the right quality, cost and on time.
