Job description

As Procurement Manager your responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

    Evaluating suppliers, conducting interviews with vendors, negotiating supplier agreements and managing supplier and vendor contracts.
    Develop, hone and execute new and improved procurement strategies across all channels of purchasing.
    Evaluate and enhance our operations in local spend while researching and prospecting developments in global spend
    Institute policies and procedures for collecting and reporting key metrics that will reduce our overall expenses while increasing productivity
    Perform cost analysis and set appropriate benchmarks
    Coordinate deliveries
    Manage various RFIs and RFPs related to procurement services
    Evaluate supplier performance.


Qualification

    Knowledge of IKEA Concept, including our vision and business idea, IKEA culture and values
    Understanding of contractual law
    Cost Optimisation, Value Engineering and cost modelling experience
    Leadership skills
    Decision-making, problem-solving, analytical and critical-thinking skills
    Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting, etc.)
    Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software

• Liaise with Premises Officer for the delivery and barcoding of the fix asset

• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or premises officer, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.

• Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders

Role:
Provides management and direction for all procurement functions on a large domestic or international project, including purchasing, expediting, supplier data control, supplier quality, and traffic.

Responsibilities:

    Reviews work produced by subordinates to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed, and that quality of procured items meets or exceeds requirements. Monitors the productivity and technical proficiency of the assigned personnel. Make staffing assignments and reassignments as Company and project needs dictate.     Conducts performance evaluations, takes corrective action as necessary, recommends promotions and salary actions, and offers training and development for the assigned personnel.

    Completes special assignments for the Department Manager – Procurement. Participates in preparing proposals.

    Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:

    Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Economics (or related field) and typically 12+ years of diversified experience in all phases of procurement activities on large global engineering and construction projects, including managerial experience.

    Extensive experience in all aspects of procurement, proven managerial capability, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required. A demonstrated proficiency in utilizing DMCS (or similar material control system) is also required.
