As the Regional Financial Controller (RFC) you will be responsible for both the Middle East and Asia regions and report to our Group Financial Controller.

The RFC will partner closely with both the Finance Control and Operations teams to ensure there are strong financial controls and processes in the business. This covers the broad spectrum of responsibilities to include monthly reporting, auditing and signing of financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations and improving end to end process controls in each of Asia and the Middle East.

Your New Role

This list of duties is not exhaustive and may change from time to time according to business needs:

• Support preparation of the month-end process for the Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Plan and deliver component entity Audits for Asia and Middle East and filing of accounts to agreed timetables and regulatory deadlines
• Improve controls and the operational control environment of the business
• Provide thought leadership to the finance organisation to build a best-in-class function
• Reviewing legal entity agreements and relationships and ensure the accounting follows the structure of the agreements
• Strengthen end to end client invoicing processes, in partnership with Finance Operations
• Partnering with the FP&A and FBP in Finance that have Asia and Middle East responsibilities
• Prioritisation of resource against key financial objectives
• Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures
• Other ad-hoc duties as required
• Team management responsibilities, including coaching and support

What will you need to succeed in this role?

As to be expected, we are searching for someone who can bring a range of skills and experiences to enhance the team. As such, there are a few essential skills we are looking for:

• 3-5 year minimum post qualified experience having worked in Financial Control roles in industry, preferably in a blue-chip company
• Hold an Accounting qualification
• Experience of people management and development

• Strong Financial Controls background, have a great understanding and experience in Financial Controls within the financial services environment; able to work together to implement good financial controls
• Strong technical background - Is able to appreciate the nuanced nature of technical accounting, taxation and regulations; and able to work with experts to get the right answer to technical issues, however doesn’t have to be a technical guru in all these areas
• Good project/programme management skills and self-organisation, demonstrates the ability to prioritise deliverables, design processes and co-ordinate people to deliver desired outcomes
• Business acumen, understands the objectives of and work with commercial (front office), business partners at the highest level (regional CEOs, COOs etc) in achieving their goals. Able to communicate clearly and with confidence, the objectives of Financial Control that the business understands
• Finance leadership, work with the Finance leadership team to help identify gaps and areas of improvement towards best business practices. Have a desire to deploy people development skills in the future, towards junior members of the finance team. Good culture leader, ensuring they demonstrate maturity, empathy, and emotional intelligence
• Experience in multiple regions from a Financial Controls/Management perspective, including working at a senior level with auditors, regulators, and heads of businesses in these regions is highly desirable
