Job Purpose
The role of the Hotel Connectivity Manager is to deliver the centralised solution for hotel dynamic connectivity relationships with dnata Travel Group by proactively developing and managing a business-critical network of products and service providers. The Hotel Connectivity Manager will also leverage supplier relationship and technology to achieve seamless connectivity to drive revenue and room night production.
Key Responsibilities
Plan
- Identify and set up a structured pipeline for future system integrations and work through priority lists based on commercial and business needs and supplier integration feasibility analysis ensuring to improve and optimise standard work processes.
- Work with Market Management and Product teams to identify opportunities for additional products, seek out and share best practices in connectivity. Identify current/potential challenges and recommend viable solutions by involving the appropriate resources.
- Liaise with strategic partners to develop yearly business plans and pro-actively drive the execution of the business plan with clear objectives and commitments around marketing and business performance. Review the plan on quarterly basis, take corrective actions, and monitor the mutual return on investment
- Proactively use analytical and negotiations skills to create opportunities for business partners to increase revenue and shift share
Deploy
- Implement procedures for ongoing operation of hotel chains, Central Reservations Service (CRS)
Lead
- Commercially lead and partner with IT teams and manage connectivity integration and implementations from start to finish and in defined timeframes, cost, and quality levels
- Manage hotel chain connectivity agreements, business initiatives, activities, and tasks within defined timeframes where applicable
- Act as the lead commercial correspondent between dnata Travel and technology providers in all commercial and system matters
- Anticipate and keep the business informed of any supplier / industry / connectivity issues which may impact the business and provide the senior management team with regular, constructive and relevant feedback on account performance along with suitable recommendations.
Execute
- Work closely with the Health & Safety team to implement Health & Safety procedure as set by the Company
- Drive frequent competitor analysis, products, and pricing reviews. Make the necessary recommendations and implement required improvements
- Build an account profile for each of the business partners and share an in-depth understanding of their systems by way of supporting materials
- Develop a complete working knowledge of dnata Travel technology solution. Join technology industry events within your territory to stay up to date with industry trends
Qualifications & Experience
Experience
- Commercial/Sales
- 5-7 years experience in the tourism industry with a minimum of 5 years in a Connectivity Management role
Qualifications
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
- Degree in business, tourism, or IT
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience from the travel industry, preferably OTA, hotel distribution or wholesale e-commerce
- Excellent understanding of Hotel Distribution/CRS solutions and a complete understanding of how hotel connectivity systems and protocols work and ability to understand technical issues
- Ability to read and understand XML logs
- Good legal framework understanding and strong negotiation skills with proven track record in commercial negotiation of global hotel chain deals
- Good network of supplier contacts
- Understanding of the Push model, cloud business models and how applications & services are brought to market, adaptable to new technologies
- Excellent analytical skills, able to interpret, review and report clearly and accurately relevant statistical data. Knowledge of Microsoft Office esp. Excel, BI reporting tools (creating filters, formula?s, pivot tables, vlook ups, charts, graphs etc.)
- Ability to work effectively in a complex, diverse and often challenging global environment, adapting well to change whilst maintaining focus on key business goals - Ability to solve complex problems, deal with constraints and can come up with creative and innovative solutions
- Ability to manage projects across multiple departments and stakeholders
- Ability to effectively present to and engage with C-Level executives
- Fluent in English both spoken and written, additional languages are a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (externally and internally)
- Team leader and team player, ability to work independently as well as within a team
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
This is a Dubai based role, however alternative locations may be considered for the right candidate.
