The role holder undertakes Fraud Risk Stewardship responsibilities, whose objective is to provide subject matter expert advice and guidance to the Wholesale Banking and MSS businesses, product lines and related Functions on all aspects of managing their fraud risk. The role holder uses corporate and institutional banking knowledge and skills including Credit, Markets and Operational Risk experience to discharge all aspects of Risk Steward responsibilities on behalf of Fraud Risk.
The role holder’s team is responsible for embedding a fraud risk management framework by providing guidance in the interpretation of policies and application of controls as well as providing challenge to ensure fraud risk is managed with risk appetite.
Role holder will provide support to the Senior Manager in the team for any ad-hoc requirements.
Key Accountabilities in this role:
Provide interpretation and application of Group Fraud policies to local Wholesale Banking and MSS Business activity and review local dispensations against policy for suitable mitigating controls and action plans
Provide subject matter expertise to guide the Wholesale Banking and MSS Business on fraud risk associated with their processes, products and services.
Identify, analyse and report on potential exposure of top and emerging fraud risks for local the Wholesale Banking and MSS Business.
Act as the Fraud Risk Steward for the Wholesale Banking and MSS Businesses (including GTRF and GLCM), engaging with Regional Business leads on all aspect of fraud risk.
Develop and deliver high quality training to RMs and other relevant internal stakeholders on Wholesale Banking fraud risk and mitigation strategies.
Recommend appropriate and relevant communication to customers and internal stakeholders on CMB fraud identification, reporting and prevention.
Work with applicable Analytics teams to ensure fraud monitoring systems are aligned to Wholesale Banking Business strategy. This includes FC Surveillance teams for MSS Front office activities
Work with relevant Compliance teams where applicable, so that relevant and significant fraud risks are effectively managed.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Wholesale banking, MSS, product and risk teams.
Engage and advise local Fraud Risk teams within region to support embedding of Wholesale and MSS Fraud Risk oversight and strategy initiatives.
Provide expert advice to local Risk Owners within their control monitoring and assurance activity.
Advise and challenge Risk Owners, Control Owners and CCOs on the identification and impact assessment of material fraud risk events.
Requirements
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
The job holder is required to have experience in working within corporate, credit risk or Markets/Securities environment. The role holder should have a good understanding of credit and overall banking processes. Knowledge of operational risk / internal control methodologies and experience in the trade finance business is also an asset.
Ability to priorities conflicting demands and problem solve
Ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization
Ability to articulate complex and sensitive information and situations in meaningful and easily understood terms
Highly refined planning, negotiation, communications, leadership, writing, editorial and management skills.
Graduate Degree is a must to obtain UAE visa
