Whether you’ve recently finished your college education and trying to find that “perfect fit” or about to complete your university degree and want to get a taste of the real world, AECOM has a wide variety of Internship opportunities available.

Responsibilities & Duties

The Intern – Structures Engineer serves as a developing professional in an engineering design team, developing and finalizing work on specific elements of a project under the direction and supervision of a Senior Engineer or designated senior team member. This role will be involved with Building Engineering Design, BIM Model and Drawing production (Design Brief compliance, completeness & accuracy) , Design co-ordination (within Engineering & Cross Discipline).

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with a minimum two of the following courses are mandatory undergraduate studies for the position from an accredited University:

Structural Dynamics

Dynamic problems in civil engineering; single-degree-of-freedom system; free and forced vibrations; transient phenomena and Duhamel's integral; distributed mass system; seismic response of structures; multi-storey buildings; random vibration and wind-induced response of structures.

Structural Steel Design II

Design of fully and partially composite beams. Beam-Columns design including local buckling, strength and stability interaction equations, biaxial bending, and bending and tension members. Plate girders design including ultimate shear strength, tension-field action, design of bearing and intermediate stiffeners, local buckling considerations, and flexural resistance. Second-order analysis techniques.

Reinforced Concrete Design II

Behavior and design of reinforced concrete members, subjected to biaxial bending, torsion, lateral loads and two-way action. Two-way slab systems. Strip method, direct design approach, and equivalent frame analysis of two-way slabs. Yield line theory of slabs. Inelastic response of reinforced concrete structures and moment redistribution. Earthquake-resistant design.

Must have graduated within the last 12 months or graduating no later than June 2023

Successful applicants must have a minimum 3.4 GPA or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above

Candidates must be currently based in the UAE

If you hold a Master’s Degree, you must have started it within 12 months of completing the Bachelor’s Degree in order to have continuous education

Strong command of any structural design analysis software package FEM based .

Good command of BIM tools

Priority shall be given to candidates with strong knowledge in Dynamo or Rhino Grasshopper and scripting languages like Python or VB . The programming skill is advantageous.

Responsibilities

The Global Engineering Manager will be responsible for defining and standardizing how we engineer and design Manage Pressure Wells. The role will be setting process and guidance that aligns with industry best practice and demand by customers. It is reliant of the role to establish engineered solutions that demonstrate not only technical but also economic value to our customers and their operations, ensuring growth and adoption of Managed Pressure Wells across all applications. The role will be responsible for developing a strategic Wells Engineering Strategy, creating new revenue stream that is competitive and built on our leading technologies and software for Managed Pressure Wells. This includes development of cross product line synergies that will enhance our capabilities and advance our engineered solutions.

Represents the Managed Pressure Drilling business globally. Liaise with clients and vendors in the specification of managed pressure wells and engineered solutions.

Ensures that the organization is optimally suited to identify customer needs and problems, to offer them the most appropriate and cost-effective solutions, to deliver the best job execution with outstanding service quality

Attend customer design reviews or sales meetings for new and existing products, as required

Participate in liaison with clients, where applicable, in conjunction with Product Line and Engineering Stakeholders

Support modifications to existing products to meet internal or external customer needs.

Conduct evaluations and design reviews of new and existing product designs

Provide engineering support to operational staff during field runs, ensuring the highest level of Customer Service Quality is maintained throughout

Provide technical support to field operations and other company officials.

COMMUNICATION

Build strong and positive relationships with client at various levels

Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, operations, and R&D to support product successes and market growth

Work with the Global Product Line managers to establish synergies and development engineered solutions that encompass multiple product line offerings.

Coordinate technical participation, conference request and client’s events that required global or corporate participation with Sales organization and the Geozones

Maintain active engagement with Geozone engineering teams to support continued training and development as well as realization of strategic goals

Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and external.

Promote an open communication environment to ensure correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements are implemented and followed

FINANCIAL

Costs incurred should be within approved budget and processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedure

Qualifications

Education & Experience

 

REQUIRED

Bachelor's degree, equivalent university degree or combination of education and experience

10+ years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly in Operations

Strong experience in drilling engineering and project management

Experience with managing and leading internal resources as well as external contracting resources

Project management experience and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Experience in Managed Pressure Drilling technologies with emphasis on drilling and well engineering

Have held the position of Operations or Geozone Business Manager and/or Technical Sales Manager

PREFERRED

Experience in Oil & Gas related engineering within an oilfield equipment

Relevant engineering design experience gained in an Oil and Gas industry

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or master’s degree in Drilling Engineering or a related subject

Proven innovator with ability to realize and develop engineered solutions

Proven ability to technical problem solving

Working knowledge of engineering practices, standards and specifications particularly related to the oil field service industry

Good communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to effectively manage in a team environment

Demonstrated leadership skills and effective, reliable and appropriate decisions making

Very strong project management skills including abilities in project accountability and cost management

Demonstrates high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in planning, organizing and guiding extensive engineering activities

Ability to handle multiple project activities simultaneously, coordinate and interact with multiple company departments and outside companies

Strong interpersonal, decision making, and negotiation skills are required

Strong team skills, mentoring training and presentation skills

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations

PMC Lead Project Engineer, Wood, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a PMC Lead Project Engineer to be based in Abu Dhabi city on ADNOC Offshore project.

 

Successful candidate would be responsible for below duties;

Lead the engineering team, supported by the Discipline Lead Engineers

Work together with the Project Teams and Department Heads to achieve Project objectives

Manage the engineering resource in delivering the work.

Coordinate across disciplines and manage technical interfaces.

Ensure that all staff responsibilities and competencies are matched to job requirements.

Ensure that all staff under his / her supervision is working to the client procedures, specifications and standards and to any project-specific agenda.

Manage the day today interfacing between the Projects and the disciplines of Piping, Mechanical, Structural, and E&I and specialist disciplines.

Participate in key customer reviews and meetings as required.

Conduct succession planning within the engineering team, especially for key roles.

Implement competence assessments and regular performance assessments with Team.

Ensure team know and work to procedures in order to be efficient and right first time.

Provide development opportunities for personnel – to increase breadth of experience and capability.

Site visits to demonstrate safety leadership.

Develop and maintain effective working practices for the Wood project management team

Provide, with full responsibility and accountability, leadership and excellence in the achievement of coordinating both technical and governance through the EPC Stages of the Project

Take full technical and commercial responsibility for execution of the contract in all matters covered within the terms of the contract (from initial contract review to project close-out)

Identify and communicate project team objectives in accordance with the contract terms, scope of work and corporate policy

Organize the project team, define individual responsibilities and motivate team members towards successful achievement of specified project goals, particularly through regular project meetings

Delegate work to the project team members in a manner that encourages individual responsibility

Achieve scheduled performance, cost, quality and HSE requirements from award to acceptance

Direct contractors on a complex Onshore / offshore Brownfield and major project arising from technical changes with Contracting Parties

Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders during project execution to meet project objectives

Oversee different contracting parties, owners, customers, government bodies and existing facilities in coordination

Manage complicated issues among different project phases and the existing facilities

Provide leadership and management for the PMT and EPC to ensure safe, cost effective and timely resolution of all interfaces

Ensure that company policies, procedures and controls are adhered to at all times

Be exposed to different cultures, backgrounds and environments. Attend to and resolve conflicts, challenges and problems related to a large multi-cultural and multi-discipline technical workforce

Carryout Technical Evaluation of Bids, Issue Bid Technical Clarifications, Technical Evaluation Reports and Recommendations

Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized university

A minimum of fifteen years’ experience in project management and execution of major and mega Oil and Gas projects, of which a minimum of five years’ experience in project management similar role with proven track record of managing teams for major and mega Oil and Gas projects

Experienced in major Onshore / Offshore Brownfield Project Management Assignments

Experienced in the implementation of industry best practices and Company's systems, processes and standards

Proven ability to apply sound judgment and analytical skills due to the complex and diversified nature of the position

Extensive skills in management and leadership, team building, effective communication, conflict resolution and presentations
