Specialist or Consultant - Gastroenterology, Abu Dhabi

We are looking for specialized candidates with good interpersonal skills for the position of Gastroenterologist.
Gastroenterologist duties include consulting and diagnosing patients, inspecting internal organs through endoscopic procedures and consulting with patients' primary physicians, among other duties.
They are highly skilled specialists with a comprehensive understanding of all gastroenterological conditions and treatment options.
Gastroenterologists should demonstrate good interpersonal skills as they will be required to attend to patient needs and consult with other specialists.

Gastroenterologist Responsibilities:
Consulting with patients to understand their health concerns.
Performing specialized tests to diagnose patients.
Determining proper courses of treatment.
Consulting with a patient's primary doctor.
Analyzing patient historical data.
Consulting with other specialists, such as oncologists, in the case of cancer.
Performing endoscopic procedures to inspect internal organs.
Performing X-Ray, MRI and ultrasound scanning.
Performing surgery in the digestive tract.

Gastroenterologist Requirements:
Medical degree.
Completion of a three-year internal residency.
Completion of a three-year Gastroenterology fellowship.
Attainment of certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Proficiency in performing endoscopic and colonoscopy procedures.
Proficiency with X-Rays, MRIs and ultrasound scanning.
Attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.

1) Neonatology Specialist
Ob-Gyn Consultant/Sr. Specialist - Females ONLY
Pediatrics ICU (PICU) Consultant
Radiology Specialist
Brief on each role:
Neonatology Specialist
Requirements:
Education: Board certified/MRC/Ms/MD in Pediatrics with sub-specialty certification in Neonatology
Experience: 2 years experience preferred in Neonatology
License: from all countries of practice

Brief:
The Neonatologist plans and carries out medical care program for infants. Examines patients to determine presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices. Determines nature and extent of disease or injury, prescribes and administers medications and immunizations, and performs variety of medical duties. He/she renders appropriate care for neonates in the NICU and inpatient ward and in those cases where a referral to another tertiary care center is more appropriate, shall contact the consultant and arrange referral/transfer to these centers.

2) ObGyn Consultant/ Sr. Specialist-Females ONLY
Requirements: Female candidates ONLY
Education: Board Certified/MRC/MD/MS in Ob-Gyne
Experience: Minimum 2 years experience post registration
License: from all countries of practice

Brief:
The OB/Gyn physician will provide professional Obstetrical and Gynecological medical and surgical services for patients at Oasis Hospital; He/she will supervise and coordinate obstetric/gynecologic services provided for patients at Oasis Hospital; He/she will supervise and evaluate medical and nursing staff of OB/GYN Department, and perform medically related and administrative duties as required

3) Pediatrics ICU (PICU) Consultant
Requirements:
Education: American Board certified or CCT/CCST in PICU/DOH licensed as PICU Consultant
Duration and type of Experience: Experience of 3 years after MD preferred.

Brief:
PICU Consultant treat children from birth through the teen years. They choose to make caring for children who are very sick the core of their medical practice. Their advanced training and experience prepare them to give children in PICUs the unique medical care that they need.
The candidate will need to have critical care transport experience and ideally have both NICU and PICU experience. The position is full-time with on call opportunities. This is a new role for us, so the team are looking for someone who is a self-starter and an enthusiastic team player

Special Note: This person will be starting this unit/specialty. Currently we do not have any PICU doctor/department.
Also the candidate will be expected to do some general pediatrics patient care will the patient numbers get full for PICU

4) Radiology Specialist
Requirements:
Education: Medical doctor degree with specialization course in radiology
Duration and type of Experience: Minimum 3 years' related experience post qualification.

Brief:
The Radiology Specialist makes and interprets diagnostic images; performs special procedures; manages radiological services.

Position at Kanad Hospital:

The Doctor's assistant is a medical support professional that performs a variety of tasks to assist physicians in providing patient care, while ensuring that clinics and hospitals run smoothly and efficiently. Doctor's assistants focus mainly on providing support services directly related to patient care and are more often found at the physician’s side working in close contact with patients, mainly in outpatient or ambulatory care settings.

Requirements:

Languages: Fluent in English. Arabic and Urdu knowledge is preferable.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: it is desirable to have a good understanding of medical procedures, as well as a familiarity with medical terminology

Roles and Responsibilities:

Room preparation
Make sure to change sheets on the examination table and dispose of and replace used disposables with new ones
Make sure all the documents/ papers and other equipment or stationary required by the doctor is available in the room prior to patient visit
Call for the next patient as doctor is doing patient education with the current patient
Patient Interaction
Assist patient with moving/sitting if required by patient
Help translating doctors communication to patient as required
Facilitate the logistics of patient waiting and movement by communicating with them about wait times, delays, waiting areas, and by guiding them to Laboratory, Radiology etc.
Doctor Interaction
Enter patient information into system while doctor is talking/examining patient
Assist doctor in entering the results in the patient electronic record
File the results after doctor signs them into the patient folders
Call back patients after lab/radiology test to inform them if their tests are normal
Assist doctor with sick leave entry into the HAAD system and sick leave filing
Prepare admission packages with stickers and the needed signatures
Coordinate with insurance for sending the claim form and keeping the forms inside the clinic
Handle phone calls when the doctor is busy with a patient
Maintain patient database as required in the department for any analysis purposes.
Assist Doctor with any additional printout/photocopy or equipment that may be required during consultation.
