Senior Drilling Engineer- Phantom Associates, Sohar, Oman
Job Description:
Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Checks orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
May provide direction to a team of checking personnel, ensuring the mathematical accuracy of the drawings produced.
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Provides technical guidance including training to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
Shall carryout technical design reviews, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
Collaborates with Engineers and other engineering disciplines to ensure quality of design.
Performs interdisciplinary reviews and provides coordination of data to ensure a compatible design.
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.Understands and applies commonly used company design standards and methods.
May assist in the establishment or revision of guidelines and standards.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Job Requirements
4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) and 10 years of related work experience.
Professional Engineer registration may be required.
Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with drainage engineering is required.
In particular must be proficient with 3d drainage design software and the interfaces with other up to date design software such as Civil3D, MX, Inroads, AutoCad, and Microstation.
Relationships Reports to the Drainage Manager.
Coordinates with the other Senior Engineers from Other Disciplines.
Coordinates with Clients key staff and all Authorities in connection with obtaining NOCs.
