The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement cycle, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services, maintaining effective supplier coordination, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. The role plays a key function in cost control, vendor management, and driving continuous improvement in procurement operations.

Responsibilities-

• Review and process purchase requisitions, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
  
• Coordinate with end users to issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and tender documents.
  
• Analyze supplier quotations, conduct negotiations, and award contracts in line with company objectives.
  
• Prepare and issue accurate, timely Purchase Orders (POs).
  
• Conduct market research and product evaluations to support informed purchasing decisions.
  
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate with suppliers to maximize value.
  
• Monitor order progress and follow up to prevent delays.
  
• Maintain open communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors to meet evolving needs.
  
• Set up and maintain vendor records in the procurement system.
  
• Track and report Local Purchase Order (LPO) balances and generate monthly reports.
  
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement practices.
  
• Ensure full compliance with internal audit and regulatory requirements; address non-compliance proactively.
  
• Analyze market and delivery trends to refine procurement strategies.
  
• Perform other procurement-related tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Requirements

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within engineering or business sectors.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or a related
  
• field.
  
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within engineering or business sectors.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and industry standards.
  
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  
• Strong analytical and planning capabilities.

Preferred Certifications:

• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
  
• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) – APICS/ASCM
  
• Diploma in Procurement and Supply – CIPS
  
• Procurement Management Certification – International Institute of Procurement and Market Research (IIPMR)
