The Opportunity
The British Council Qatar is recruiting IES to be Qatar lead for the British Council’s International Education Services (IES) programme, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results in support of UK institutions marketing objectives and activities. S/he will do this through the delivery of high quality, client-funded activities with the aim of:
positioning the UK as a leader in international education
contributing to the growth of the market in Qatar for UK higher education, UK school providers and ELT providers
building strategic partnerships between Qatar and UK institutions
ensuring financial sustainability through generation of income
S/he will lead on the planning, delivery and financial management of the International Education Services (IES) business in Qatar, working collaboratively with other country IES programme managers in British Council’s Middle East and North Africa region. S/he will contribute to business development through proactive engagement with clients and potential partners, lead on the successful implementation of the country IES business plan, and ensure quality of service delivery. IES services include delivery of market insight, student recruitment events, digital and content marketing, as well as providing assistance in brokering partnerships with local institutions.
The post holder will work with country leadership, local projects team, regional and global teams to ensure delivery of the IES business at country level, contributing to the objectives and performance of the country plan, and in line with the British Council’s Equal Opportunity & Diversity policy and other overarching corporate policies.
Successful Candidates
Ideal candidates should have the following experience and skills, in addition to British Council required Core Skills as listed in the Role Profile:
5 years of relevant experience in the education sector or as a marketing professional. ·
Excellent written and spoken English (B2 or above)- (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent) ·
Fluent written and spoken Arabic (Level C1) ·
University Graduate
Desirables may be used during short listing in the event of a large number of applicants for the posts and priority will be given to applicants who already are in Qatar.
