Job Purpose
This role holder is to implement strategic communication plans that raise awareness of the group and its companies, and engage internal and external audiences through various channels and platforms. This includes creating and disseminating corporate content that promotes the group's values and tells compelling stories, as well as managing media relations and speaking opportunities to increase the group's visibility and thought leadership. This role reports to the Head of Marketing and Communications for the group.
Job Responsibilities
Communication Strategy
Develop a detailed Communication Plan for the group, outlining the themes, messaging, and channels for all corporate communications and promotions in order to a comprehensive and effective communication Plan for the Group
Corporate Communications
Create an annual content calendar and develop engaging messaging themes for all advertisement and promotional content by engaging impactful corporate content that amplifies the group’s values
Write relevant and compelling corporate stories for publishing, and author social media posts across all platforms
Curate Industry Blogs in partnership with internal and external subject matter experts distributed through various channels including social media, industry blogs and internal communication materials
Internal Communications
Publish a periodic internal company newsletter, reporting on vital company and staff accomplishments, strengthening corporate values, and highlighting community service activities.
Work with the human capital department to promote engaging and impactful corporate content, and drive content on the company intranet and moderate employee engagement
Media Relations
Nurture strong relationships with local and international media & journalists, and secure high-level placements in print, broadcast, and digital media
Identify and secure relevant speaking opportunities within industry events & summits for group spokespeople
Organize press conferences, interviews, and other relevant media engagement events in order to opportunities for group spokespeople to speak at industry events and summits, resulting in increased visibility and thought leadership for the group
Monitor media for inaccurate corporate reporting and correct it where required by a consistent tone of voice across all communication channels ensuring that the group’s messaging is clear, cohesive and aligned with its values and brand identity
Deliver periodic media relations and digital footprint reports including but not limited to insights and analysis on the group’s media presence and online reputation
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Communications/Media/Public Relations/content writing or a related field
Experience
5+ years (min) of experience working in corporate communications, either in-house or at a media company / PR agency
Knowledge & Skills
Strong verbal and written communications in both Arabic and English
Excellent relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets
Exceptional writing and editing skills, an affinity for details and high level of accuracy
An understanding of national media protocols
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
