Your Responsibilities

  • Drive the company’s financial planning
  • Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
  • Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
  • Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure
  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
  • Supervise all finance personnel (controllers, treasurers etc.)

  • Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports

Your Qualifications

  • BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
  • 15 to 20+ Years in the Financial domain with proven experience as CFO, finance officer or relevant role
  • In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP)
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
  • CPA is a strong advantage
  • Experience working in a large Technology Group from the IT Ecosystem - Vendor, Consultancy, System Integrator, Telco etc

About the Role

Kraken is a market leader in one of the most innovative and fast growing industries in the world. We are expanding and innovating throughout all aspects of the company to support this rapid growth, and to ensure that we can effectively execute on our highly ambitious short-, medium- and long-term plans for regional product and market growth.

As the CEO of Kraken MENA, you will report to Kraken’s Managing Director, EMEA and be responsible for overseeing the deployment of Kraken’s operating infrastructure and commercial expansion in the MENA region. You will serve a critical role on a team that is key to Kraken’s regional vision. You will be expected to operate effectively in a highly cross-functional context, working directly with Kraken executive leaders and global function heads. This role is local to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Responsibilities

    • Manage Kraken MENA profit & loss (“P&L”) and all local operations, being responsible for the overall performance and success of Kraken in key MENA markets.
    • Develop and implement regional product and market strategies in concert with Kraken executive leadership.
    • Maintain and execute Kraken’s MENA business plan to maximise market share, client growth, product opportunities, and profitability. 
    • Build and manage the Kraken MENA regional team, including compliance, finance, security/IT, and other operations functions.
    • Guide Kraken MENA in preparing and completing regulatory examinations and audits.
    • Lead engagement with regional governments and regulators.
    • Drive relationships with regional financial institution partners, including domestic and international banks.
    • Lead regional communication efforts to advance and differentiate the Kraken brand.

Requirements

    • Eligible to work in the UAE.
    • 12+ years of experience in general management, operations, and/or business development.
    • Proven experience in P&L management, either as CEO, COO, or head of a business unit, leading teams and businesses at scale.
    • Experience in operating a licensed financial service in a relevant industry; e.g., crypto/blockchain, fintech, financial services, or brokerage/exchange.
    • Prior experience owning relationships with financial regulators on behalf of commercial entities.
    • Qualified to serve on the boards of directors of Kraken regional subsidiaries, being in good standing with respective regulators and industry bodies.
    • Expertise in financial products and regulatory compliance, including AML, capital markets, and crypto regimes. 
    • Strong command of financial statements and fiduciary duties.
    • Analytical expertise and data-driven decisioning skills, mastery of financial models, projections, etc.
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills; public relations experience preferred.
    • Fluency in English and Arabic.

Preferred Expertise

    • Strong, demonstrated interest in, and knowledge of, crypto assets and blockchain technologies.
    • Technical background in, or knowledge of, software/internet products & services, particularly in a product development context.
    • Post-merger integration (PMI) change management; MENA-specific experience preferred.

Ensure that solutions to problems meet the architectural standards within the technology area and impact to the business is minimised. - To be an interface with different technical teams, applications teams and Customer support team and dissipate the solutions required for all incident management and service request for all assigned business areas i.e Hotel, Airport, Galileo etc. Liaise with vendors, IT coordinators and other IT teams to ensure a high level of system availability. - To analyze reported incident and provide solutions to the users enabling them to resume their work with minimum disruption as per agreed SLOs. To complete IT service requests (like new installations, reconfigurations & moves) as per agreed SLO. To work towards resolution of incidents across various technologies & platforms. - To update the status of an incident or service request in the tool. To make sure that they hold up to date information before acting on any incident or service request to insure that tool and relevant teams are updated. Ensure escalation and other sectional procedures are maintained, proactively informing management of process or procedural improvements. - To provide quick fixes / workarounds / solutions to be updated in the Known Error database to Problem Management Team. To identify recurring problem areas and to articulate trends for root cause analysis. To liaise with problem management to give a more permanent problem resolution. To proactively identify & highlight issues, to reduce the possibility of system downtime for users. - To provide required statistics and assistance to Customer Support Services Managers(s) in regular Customer services reviews. - To implement proactive maintenance on peripheral devices on a recurring schedule to eliminate possible incidents and minimize possible impacts on customers. To review and oversee the maintenance of service, support and documentation standards and procedures on an ongoing basis. - Ensure that the team maintain and control in auditable manner all transactions relating to receipt, storage, issue, return and re-issue of computer and server equipment. Qualifications & Experience
Experience in Information Technology: 5+ Years Degree or Honours MCSE/CCNA. Completed training courses in communications, LAN networking, and customer support aspects from a recognized vendor or training institute With 5 years of specialist technical experience, ideally within IT infrastructure, service and support management, of which at least 2 years must be in a support role.
