Long-Term Planning Specialist, Kuwait

We need a Long-Term Planning Specialist,

The Long-Term Planning Specialist will support Jazeera Airways’ strategic network development by conducting detailed market analyses, forecasting demand, assessing competitive dynamics, evaluating route profitability, and preparing long-range network plans. The role requires a highly analytical individual with strong numerical capability, advanced forecasting techniques, and the ability to convert complex data into actionable business insights.

This position will play a key role in shaping Jazeera’s medium-term and long-term network strategy, preparing board-level presentations, supporting fleet planning decisions, identifying new route opportunities, and monitoring the performance of existing markets.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• A. Long-Term Network Strategy & Development
• • Analyse industry trends, macroeconomic indicators, airport capacity developments, and regulatory frameworks to identify new market opportunities.
  • Build 3–5 year network scenarios considering aircraft deliveries, retirements, seasonality patterns, competitive behaviour, and bilateral constraints.
  • Evaluate new destinations, route expansions, and frequency increases supported by sound commercial and operational logic.
  • Maintain Jazeera’s long-term network roadmap aligned with corporate strategy and fleet plans.
• B. Forecasting & Market Analysis
• • Prepare detailed business cases for new routes, frequency changes, and seasonal operations.
  • Apply forecasting methodologies: time-series models, regression analysis, seasonality decomposition, sensitivity modelling, scenario simulations, etc.
  • Analyse demand trends, O&D flows, schedule competitiveness, and connectivity opportunities.
  • Evaluate competitor capacity, alliances, airport developments, and fare structures.
• C. Route Evaluation & Business Case Development
• • Evaluate and process charter flight requests ensuring aircraft availability, slot feasibility, regulatory approvals, and operational readiness.
  • Conduct route profitability modelling including demand estimates, yield assumptions, cost forecasts, aircraft utilisation, and slot feasibility.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Management, and Fleet Planning to validate assumptions.
  • Present clear go/no-go recommendations based on data-driven analysis.
• D. Data Management & Analytical Tools
• • Maintain comprehensive datasets for long-term planning including MIDT, airport statistics, internal performance data, scheduling outputs, and fleet constraints.

  • Build dashboards, charts, route-level scorecards, and modelling templates for strategic planning.
  • Use analytical tools effectively (Excel, Power BI/Tableau, forecasting engines).
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all planning documents.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in long-term network planning or route development.
• Experience preparing business cases for senior leadership or board approval.
• Familiarity with MIDT, Sabre Market Intelligence, OAG, Cirium, IATA PaxIS, etc.
• Experience with statistical forecasting tools (Python, R, SPSS).
• Strong experience in network planning, forecasting, or route development (airline experience strongly preferred).
• Exceptional analytical and numerical skills with demonstrated forecasting expertise.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, modelling, formulas, scenario building).
• Strong PowerPoint design and storytelling skills
