Role
As Freight Operations Specialist you will be responsible for providing customer-focused operational support by managing end-to-end freight activities for both import and export shipments. The role ensures accurate documentation, efficient shipment handling, proactive communication, and on-time delivery in line with customer requirements, while maintaining high operational and service standards.
Responsibilities:
Monitor shipments in transit and proactively keep customers informed of ETAs, or any transit-related issues.
Negotiate freight rates with carriers and service providers, update export and import rate sheets on SharePoint
Send routing instructions and follow up with origin offices, agents, and carriers.
Coordinate closely with the clearance department to ensure timely customs clearance and final delivery.
Update the CW1 system with Proof of Delivery (POD) upon completion.
Update other internal tracking sheets with accurate freight status information.
Ensure all freight documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with internal and external requirements.
Maintain proper records in line with company policies and audit requirements.
Maintain strong working relationships with clients and customers to ensure a high standard of service.
Send daily shipment status reports to customers.

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
Diploma / Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management or equivalent
At least 3-5 years of experience in Logistics & Freight Forwarding industry.

Competencies
Excellent interpersonal skills with aptitude to build relationships at all levels in the business.
Influential communication skills, someone who can lead, and talk with a solution mind-set.
Good understanding of logistics, freight or supply chain industries and their capabilities.
