Job Description

About the role:

We have a great opportunity to join our Dubai office as a Chief Operating Officer (COO), Middle East. The role of COO will be required to manage the daily business operations of the firm across the Middle East, working closely with partners and department heads/supervisors in region and the UK to support the day-to-day activity of employees.

As COO your role will cover all operational aspects of the business with the aim to reduce the administrative burden on the managing partner and partners to enable them to spend more time being client facing and to drive the ambitious growth plan.

This role aims to drive efficiencies and clear policies through five main areas: Finance; HR; Strategy; Administrative, and Special Projects, whilst noting these are not mutually exclusive, and the role will vary as the need changes in the business.

About you:

We are looking for someone who is an experienced COO or Chief of Staff with a track record of supporting firms with efficient and effective operations as well as having delivered strategic growth projects.

Your key skills and experience will follow as:

    You will be an expert relationship builder with local and international stakeholders.
    You will be an excellent and effective influencer to ensure effective delivery of plans, whether they be financial, people or growth orientated.
    Substantial experience across the middle east, and specifically in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, preferably gained in part from working in a professional services or consultancy firm.
    Ideally, you will have worked within a regulated sector and appreciate the importance of strong controls to meet both local and international regulatory and legal requirements.
    You will be familiar with local requirements across the Middle East countries and have demonstrated an ability to achieve these.
    Ideally you will have worked in a matrixed structure accountable for local delivery, whilst also ensuring the standards and expectations of an international law firm are achieved.
    You will be delivery orientated happy to roll up your sleeves to ensure delivery of financial targets and plans.
    Highly experienced in handling an array of operational matters and will have demonstrated sound judgement and, where required, drawn upon the expertise of SMEs (Finance, HR, BD) locally or internationally.
    Culturally sensitive
    Experience within a financial background along with a finance qualification
