Overview
The Senior Architect – Transmission Network strategically devises the Data Center Interconnect (DCI) layout and strategy, with a focus on Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), Optical Transport Network (OTN), and Fiber Cabling. Taking charge of the Core42 DC Interconnect infrastructure design, the Senior Architect – Transmission Network guides decision-making, emphasizing scalability, lifecycle management, and optimal performance.

Responsibilities
Design and validate DC Interconnect solutions for the Core42 Products and Platforms.
Define and validate DWDM/OTN & Fiber Cable functional requirements for the Core42 products and platforms and overlay services.
Leads internal architecture review boards to validate and approve complex DWDM/OTN &Fiber Cable scalable network solutions as well as presenting design decisions and technology roadmaps to internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with procurement and finance functions assuring full visibility and transparency of DCI solutions cost structure.
Coordinate preparation and review RFI/RFP/RFQ documents and approve BOQ for network hardware.
Validate and approve DCI [DWDM/OTN & Fiber Cable] HLDs and LLDs for new deployments holding responsibility for compliance with performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
Drive optimization and improvement of the existing DCI network topologies and validate and approve DCI architecture changes.
Validate and approve solutions to integrate with external/partners transmission systems.
Enforcing security policies and compliance requirements to keep DCI network compliant with the regulatory standards.
Mentor and lead a technical team of 2+ Architects coordinating activities within solutioning design scope.
Engage vendor and lead conversations with vendors on technology selection and solution review process.
Review and approve presentation decks for client meetings. Attend meetings with clients and present solutions upon request.
Propose and write disaster recovery procedures to the Engineering and Operations teams
Contribute to relevant processes and procedures improving efficiency and enhancing internal and external stakeholder experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Telecom Engineering.
Minimum 8 years of experience in DWDM/OTN & Fiber Cable network design and implementation.
Expert level knowledge in DWDM/OTN network technologies as well as Fiber Cable solution (Outdoor SM & Indoor SM/MM).
Deep expertise in planning, designing, implementing, and troubleshooting of DWDM/ OTN networks including but not limited to MS-OTN, Flex Grid, Super-Channels, Coherent Optical Transmission, CDC, Layer 1 Encryption.
Expertise in planning, designing, implementation & troubleshooting of Fiber Cable (Outdoor/Indoor).
Expert in using testing equipment (OSA, Ethernet Analyzer, OTDR, OLS/PM, etc.
Expert level certifications from Vendors like Ciena, Nokia, etc. are highly desirable.
Good Understanding of photonic concepts and solutions.
Understanding of cloud computing and High-Performance computing concepts and technologies is highly desirable.
Team player, self-motivated, willing to learn, result oriented, willing to share knowledge.
Expert level certificate like in Service Provider or Design is a plus.
GCC Driving license is highly desirable.
