Sustainable Recruitment Solutions (SRS) is a niche recruitment company focussed upon hiring the best environmental staff to work for the best companies in the Middle East. We are currently seeking applications from marine biologists for a position to join the team of a leading consulting company who are working on a series of high profile projects along the red sea coast.
The Marine Biologist will help the Environment Director and Project Management staff in the technical delivery of large environmental monitoring, baseline survey and environmental and social impact assessments.
Core Duties:
Manage the technical delivery of the marine input to large ESIA projects on a day-to-day basis to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standard
Under the guidance of an experienced Senior Project Managers you will be responsible to manage and deliver project documents including Survey Reports, Scoping Reports, ES Chapters and Non-Technical Summaries and related technical studies.
Provide technical expertise upon coral species for identification, translocation and nursery activities.
Coordinate the work of divers, technical specialists and subcontractors in the preparation of marine environment studies
Prioritize project actions and meet commitments on an on-going basis while taking ownership and responsibility for the quality and completion of work
Manage relationships with clients to provide them with continual visibility upon the status of projects
Application Criteria:
Minimum Bachelors degree in Marine Science (or similarly related discipline)
Understanding of (and preferably direct experience within) the environmental consultancy sector
Completely fluent (spoken / written) in English with strong technical writing ability.
Experience of either working within countries with highly regulated environmental protection legislation or upon projects that have utilised the World Bank and IFC environmental standards as their reference framework.
Evidence of strong organizational and project management skills including the ability to consistently deliver work on time
Good communication skills including confidence to articulate and present study findings within a workshop environment and interact with the regulatory authorities as necessary
A flexible and dynamic approach including the ability to work independently as well as coordinate within a team
An ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team and environment
Strong communication, commercial, quantitative and analytical skills.
Diving qualifications
The specific duties of the role will fluctuate from week to week and therefore all applicants must be capable and comfortable in performing both field-based and office-based duties.
