B2C Manager, dnata - The Emirates Group, Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose:

Plan, Develop and Manage the Leisure business and Sales and Revenue targets set for the Retail outlets. Evaluate market Intelligence and provide reports that will drive strategies and tactics to proactively be adapted against market changes. Continuously look at ways to increase revenue and profitability of the shops by focusing on market segmentation, product mix, and overall retail strategy; which is in line with dnata’s Vision, Mission and Values. Provide leadership to operations/leisure, Develop and promote the destination with responsibility for ensuring cost effective operations and infrastructure development to deliver results.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for achieving and reporting against financial targets laid out in the annual budget. Monitor and Review financial performance against budget on a regular basis. effective utilisation of overhead expenses, manpower resources and capital expenditure.
  • Monitor the changing market situations, and continuously adapt the business strategy to meet market conditions and future challenges. Track competitor activity and recommend changes in processes, systems, and strategies to address business growth needs. Independently research retail travel market. Trends and customer buying behaviors to support retail in formulating the sales strategies.
  • Ensure the implementation of processes & procedures and escalate any required changes to increase the efficiency of the retail operations. Ensure and encourage staff to make optimal use of all the technical resources placed at their disposal, to the ultimate benefit of both the clients and dnata Retail by maintaining at all times dnata's VALUES.
  • Constantly monitor service levels through research, mystery shopper's reports, and/or customer surveys to ensure that dnata Travel retail delivers the highest level of service to its internal & external customers. Thereby maximizing revenues for the department by cross-selling the right product and enhance the overall customer experience in dnata retail.
  • Develop and implement the sales strategy including policies, sales quotas, and goals to achieve the short and long-term revenue growth strategy within the KSA. Explore and consolidate new business prospects locally and regionally through consolidation.
  • Negotiate contracts with current and new suppliers and carriers to ensure better deals, with the objective of improved competitive price and increased profit margins. Network with principal airlines that dnata travel represents as GSA's and preferred carriers to minimize dilution of revenues by leveraging on the developed relationships to resolve pending discrepancies and ADMS.
  • Manage and implement a sales & marketing plan/strategy to achieve the set sales target and increase the credibility of dnata Travel brand in the retail market. Drive tactical promotions and sales blitz that will impact the overall sales and revenue of the outlets. Provide the Managing Director quarterly reports based on market intelligence and customers desire and include the return of investment of the various initiatives.
  • Maintain effective working relation with the e-commerce team and other business units to drive business synergies and align sales strategies across the different B2Cdistribution channels.
  • Provide the Managing Director with a comprehensive evaluation of dnata Travel retail outlets profitability against the forecasted budget. Analyze the KPI's to drive performance efficiencies and ensure that the return of investment justifies the overall operations and business continuity. Continuously look at new markets to increase dnata Travel retail footprint and market share.
  • Coach and mentor the team to help them develop their skills by concentrating on strengths, identifying positive behaviour and encouraging continuous learning. Conduct PM reviews to support the team in keeping track of their development.
  • Collaboration to drive the brand and liaise with dnata Dubai.


Qualifications:

Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
Bachelor Degree in business, a marketing or leisure/tourism related subject

Experience:

Commercial/Sales. Other 8+ Years

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience handling the entire process of implementing both existing and new business and the operational role. The ideal candidate should have the experience of having successfully managing a team.
  • A proven ability to exercise judgment and decision making in Managing Retails and promotion of travel-related services, airline, and dnata's products.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the tourism markets and industry.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Additional languages will be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent presentation, analytical, negotiation, strong report writing skills. Computer literate.
  • Experience in the Travel or Tourism Industry, in a Retail, Sales capacity.
  • Thorough knowledge of the IATA rules and regulations involved in the operational area of a travel agency.
  • Strong networking and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Systematic and logical approach to problem solving and a capability to work around problems. Good creative and lateral thinking skills. A strong team player, capable of seeing and understanding the bigger picture and actively contributing to that result. Self-motivated, highly organized, pro-active and flexible.
  • Well groomed, Multi-cultural understanding with a demonstrable ability to negotiate in a multinational environment. Tactful and mature disposition. Must be diplomatic and capable of performing well under pressure.
  • Any airline or leisure related courses are an advantage, particularly in the areas of Retail and Sales.
