What you'll be doing
As the Bookkeeper/Accountant you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our financial
transactions, ensuring the precision and trustworthiness of our accounting records. You will act as the primary liaison, tasked with fostering a seamless connection with Chalhoub Group, while adeptly managing day-to-day accounting duties, petty cash processes, and the handling of supplier payments and expenses.
Your responsibilities will extend to GL functions, including reconciliation, consolidation,
process enhancements, and the development and documentation of policies. Moreover, you will be entrusted with monitoring cash flow, profit and loss statements, balance sheet recording supplier invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and conducting financial and KPI reporting.
You will have the opportunity to serve as a key contributor to a fast paced, high growth
environment and strengthen your understanding of both operational and technical
accounting processes.
YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE YOU WILL...
● Be responsible for accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
procedures for certain key balance sheets and income statement accounts (including
preparing and/or reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations).
● Collaborate cross-functionally with various organizations within the Company,
including Operations, Creative, Technology and Data, and Merchandise to support the
accounting close process.
● Monitor cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
● Prepare audit schedules
● Assist and prepare internal management reporting documents to support company
decision making and analysis.
● Preparing tax returns
● Preparing financial analyses and reports.
● Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
● Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
● Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
● Assisting with annual audit preparations.
● Cash handling cash transactions and maintain appropriate documentation and
control
What you’ll need to succeed
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a focus on
Accounting.
● 4-5+ years of relevant work experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
● Strong proficiency in technical accounting principles and practices.
● Exceptional analytical skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight
deadlines.
● Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
● Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
environment.
● Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of driving change initiatives.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage
effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
● Proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.
● Experience with Zoho Books and Oracle are preferred
● Enthusiastic, adaptable, and motivated by challenges.
