POSITION SUMMARY

 Calculate figures for food inventories, orders, and costs. Maintain clear and organized records to ensure all reports and invoices are filed and stored properly. Post invoices using computer programs. Conduct inventory audits to determine inventory levels and needs. Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies. Notify manager/supervisor of low stock levels. Verify and track received inventory and complete inventory reports and logs. Reconcile shipping invoices and receiving reports to ensure count accuracy. Receive, unload, and process deliveries. Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items. Troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and oversee return process. Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas. Monitor PAR levels for all food items to ensure proper levels.

 

Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print). Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects). Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Educational Requirements

 

  • Master’s degree in Purchasing.

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for HSE Advisor to strengthen our team in Dubai. This is an office based position with occasional requirement to visit Iraq.

 

The contract is for 1 year, renewable annually based on business needs.

 

  • Recommend effective preventative actions in all areas of work including reporting of all incidents and near misses
  • Engage with operational staff to identify high risk activities and HSE support;
  • Promote HSE objectives and initiatives
  • Encourage and promote use of the safety observation systems
  • Provide HSE training to Wood employees
  • Ensure thorough compliance to the HSE Management System
  • Conduct inductions with new starts
  • Deliver HSE Trainings for site based personnel and travellers, as required
  • Actively engage and communicate with operations and contractor personnel to educate occupational hazard awareness
  • Supporting HSE incident investigations and undertaking the appropriate reporting requirements
  • Ensuring the project emergency response arrangements are in place and are communicated to all personnel; ensuring that project requirements align with Client requirements if these take precedence.
  • Engages with all levels of relevant business and client organisation
  • Promote the awareness of HSE Initiatives to improve HSE Awareness and performance;
  • Mentor and develop HSE capabilities of the team
  • Ensure that planned project HSE Assurance activities are executed in accordance with the plan;
  • Assist in the maintenance, documentation and deployment of the WOOD HSE management system
  • Supports the development of HSE schedules such as audit plans, HSE Improvement Plans
  • Executes assurance activities in line with the plans
  • Effectively using and maintaining the Wood CAIRS database
  • Uses HSE training tools to support and facilitate HSE competence within the organisation;
  • Assist in compilining the information required for monthly reporting of HSE indicators
  • Encourage participation in the HSE Observation programmes
  • Mentor and coach the workforce on HSE Behaviours and expectations in line with the Wood Behavioural Standard

Skills / Qualifications

  • HSE Qualification by recognised industry body (essential)
  • 5 years minimum Occupational health and Safety in Industrial Services environment
  • Good organistational skills
  • Previous experience in a similar hands-on capacity
  • Previous site based experience is highly desirable
  • Previous experience in HSE training, PtW, H2S, CSE, W@H is desirable
  • Commitment to improving the HSE culture in the organisation
  • Commitment to overall quality, Safety and Assurance and the need to reduce incidents within the organisation (Safety, Business, quality and technical)
  • Very good interpersonal skills

Primary objective
 

To coordinate implementation of Safety policies, HSE Management System and Project specific HSE Management Plans as they apply to the project.
Ensure that the site complies with the relevant HSE Legislation.
Develop and implement the project HSE MS.
Develop and maintain Statistical data for the Project.
Prepare reports as required
Provide advice and guidance to the team on HSE issues
Ensure, establish and maintain statistical data concerning all matters of health and safety, training programs with which to provide a basis for development of further health and safety activities, to highlight trends for future action.
Review Safety Management System and advise of required changes.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with the client to foster the professional image of Worley.
Visit the project site on a regular basis to ensure interest and awareness of HSE is maintained, conduct regular safety talks and safety training sessions relative to the nature of activities being undertaken

Other key activities shall include but not be limited to the following:
 

Pro-actively visit site and implement safety measures-promote/ensure safe work practices
Ensure quality safety observation program is implemented and maintained on each site/project and ensure follow up on findings
Assist personnel in identifying hazards and in planning and organising the work such that a safe working environment is maintained.
Assist safety advisors and site management in the development and revision of specific site safety programmes.
Disseminate safety information throughout the workplace via bulletin boards, posters, newsletters etc.
Assist supervisors in accident investigation process and report accordingly.
Develop and implement safety initiatives to continually improve, achieve and maintain stated safety performance and objectives.
Ensure HSE safety inductions are undertaken.

Essential Skills/Experience

· BSc Hons in Engineering or related degree, membership of a relevant Engineering Institution or similar. Knowledge of applicable Saudi Arabia and International safety legislation.

· Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years safety and risk experience, preferably 10 years+
