Role Overview:
The ethics and compliance officer is responsible for establishing, enforcing, and overseeing AI ethical frameworks and standards across Abu Dhabi Government. This role will collaborate closely with ADGEs to ensures that AI technologies are developed and deployed in compliance with Abu Dhabi AI policies and regulations, and with proper risk management strategies.

Qualification and Experience:
• Bachelors degree in law, ethics, business administration, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in compliance, ethics, or regulatory roles
• Experience in compliance, ethics, or regulatory roles, preferably in the context of AI or technology
• Experience working in or with government entities
• Certification in AI ethics, governance, or compliance is highly preferred
Requirements:

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

AI Governance Frameworks Establishment and Enforcement:
• Enforce and support the implementation of the Abu Dhabi AI governance frameworks and ethical guidelines
• Establish processes to monitor compliance across ADGEs, ensuring adherence to AI governance and ethics policies
• Monitor AI systems across government entities to ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi AI policies, standards, and guidelines
• Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments, providing recommendations for corrective actions when necessary
• Work with ADGEs to promote transparency, accountability, and responsible AI practices, fostering trust in AI solutions
• Lead workshops and training sessions for government entities to enhance understanding and implementation of AI ethical standards
• Act as the primary point of contact for ADGEs, providing guidance, training, and advisory support on AI ethics, compliance, and risk management

AI Risk Management Strategies Development:
• Develop and oversee the AI risk management frameworks, focusing on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with AI projects
• Guide ADGEs in implementing risk management strategies to enhance the resilience and reliability of AI systems
• Establish protocols for the detection and mitigation of biases in AI algorithms and datasets used across government entities

Compliance Reporting:
• Prepare regular reports on AI compliance, ethical performance, and risk management status for executive leadership
• Recommend and implement improvements to AI ethics compliance programs
• Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, investigations, and anything related
• Ensure that documentation is organized and readily accessible for audits and reviews

Investigation and Resolution:
• Conduct investigations into potential ethical or compliance violations related to AI activities
• Collaborate with relevant departments to address and resolve compliance issues or breaches
