HSE Officer, Prysmian Group, Muscat, Oman

As part of the HSE Team, being responsible to ensure that HSE guidelines and standards are implemented and adhered to at all Operations site and the entire Company premises.

Key Deliverables:

• Implement all required standards with regards to Health, Safety and Environment within Company premises.
• Enforce safe working practices and ensure lost time incidents are kept to a minimum.
• Ensure timely maintenance of equipment’s such as fire-fighting equipment’s, safety harnesses, first aid boxes, overhead cranes, spill kits, etc.
• Communicate all HSE related processes and procedures to all personnel within the Company.
• Assist in training and safety workshops for all personnel in the Company.
• Do a daily walk-around through the Company premises and educate personnel, especially shop floor, regarding safety guidelines, good housekeeping and proper maintenance of workshop.
• Assist in any necessary accident/incident investigation and reporting.
• You will be responsible to ensure that all safety & environmental issues are managed fulfilling the requirements of all the regulations applicable by international standards and National laws as appropriate.
• Conduct safety induction for visitors, new staff, interns, etc.
• Liaise with company personnel during Emergency Response situation and safety drills.
• You will be responsible to carry out Emergency Response testing and fix any shortfalls.

Job Profile:

Qualifications:

• Graduate in any field.
• Certification in safety management (NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent) preferred.

Skills/Knowledge:

• Strong communication skills.
• Good co-ordination skills.
• Ability to implement HSE Policies and associated Management Systems.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Teamwork and proactive approach.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in related industries within Middle East.

Business Understanding:

• Understanding of the country HSE guidelines.
• Aware of the industrial standards and bodies.
• Knowledgeable about Fire & other emergency response related aspects.
