We have a brand new opportunity for a Corporate Legal Counsel to assume responsibility for UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, Algeria and Morocco (MENA) on all legal entities in all countries. In this role you will understand the pressure points, strategy and objectives of the business and effectively communicate the risks and legal issues involved in any decision to management. This enables management to make informed strategic choices within an acceptable legal risk profile.

What you will do:

Manage all legal operations and procedures.
Ensuring the provision of excellent drafting, negotiating and management of contracts with customers and suppliers in a timely and effective way to deliver the best outcome.
Consulting with management, commercial advisors, tax experts, accountants and HR.
Negotiating and drafting contractual agreements, such as real estate leases, and advising on employment matters.
Developing the organization's policies on industry-specific issues, corporate governance or regulatory affairs.
Delivering timely and high quality legal advice to the business all in a practical and commercially focussed way in relation to all relevant matters that reduce risk, resolve issues and maximise the opportunity for the business to deliver on its goals.
Developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and building processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
 

What you will bring:

BS degree in Law.
Current licence to practise law.
Proven background on corporate and commercial law and knowledge of compliance matters, especially on ABAC.
Relevant industry or practice experience acting as Legal Counsel to senior executive stakeholders is essential.
Highly analytical and able to examine the facts related to cases and contracts in order to develop a compelling legal argument.
Strong negotiation skills, which can help with negotiating contracts, arriving at settlements in civil cases, and coming to an agreement about the terms of a plea deal.
Ability to conduct extensive research to learn about related cases and previous judgments that may have a bearing on the case at hand.
Leadership - Ability to negotiate, influence, and motivate management and inspire confidence and trust.
Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in written documents (such as legal summaries and statements) in English and Arabic.
Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
Excellent organisational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines.
