Supporting the Marketing and Business Development function in the META region, this role will collaborate with teams both locally and across our global network on a variety of business development activities. Business Development, Marketing and Communications
Our business development, marketing and communication teams contribute to the setting and achievement of the firm’s business objectives, which includes supporting our partners and associates in their pursuit of becoming our clients’ trusted advisers, building and maintaining long-lasting, deep institutional client relationships, winning new clients, increasing the visibility of the firm globally, and positioning the firm as the thought leader and most advanced law firm among the global elite law firms. The function works as one team across the globe with very close collaboration between the central groups – such as Marketing Communications—and professionals supporting offices, practice groups, sectors and clients.
What you will do
In this role, you will primarily support the finance group in the Middle East region (of META) specifically, which includes the teams of debt finance, restructuring and insolvency, civil law and funds practices
This will include:
Proposals—assisting in preparing proposals, pitch presentations and credentials statements for the finance group. Input into documents prepared by other practice groups and offices requiring the relevant finance expertise. Work with colleagues to capture proposal outcomes.
Directories and awards—assist with directories and awards, including Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR1000, IFN, and others. This includes collecting relevant input, preparing drafts, and assisting with follow-up communication with directories' teams and fee earners.
Market and client research—assist with market and client intelligence, including pipeline deals, major players, market shares, key client contact moves, and developments. Provide this information to the BD Manager to support business planning activities.
Client events and hospitality—assist with cross-practice and regional events for fee earners and the CRM team.
Client account management—assist other members of the Business development and client relationship management (CRM) team on specific client tactics, including client presentations and training, etc.
BD tactics—work with PAs and the BD team to help with email distribution and maintaining lists of contacts for the finance group.
Master documents—maintain updated collateral, credentials, and CVs; and track and ensure deal information is regularly and accurately captured in the firm’s experience system.
Media—assist with the external profile for the group, including providing help with press releases, campaigns, and LinkedIn (LI) posts.
Additional projects—Opportunity to assist in META and firm wide, departmental or practice area projects.
About you
We are seeking a commercial and ambitious individual with some proven marketing experience looking for a new opportunity to take the next step in their career:
Graduate (plus commitment to, or existing additional professional marketing/business qualifications)
Proven marketing experience in a professional service or the legal services sector
Enthusiasm to develop an understanding of the finance practice in the Middle East (in terms of the market, the deals, the key players and the competition)
Strong digital and IT skills
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Good communication skills—both written and oral
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills—with partners, key associates, and business development colleagues, clients and suppliers
A team player
Ability to work to deadlines
