Siemens Energy is a global leader in the field of Engineering with numerous projects around the ME region in various fields including Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Rotating Equipment and Value Added Electrical & Automation Solutions.

We are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer with medium voltage Motors and VFDs selection and integration experience in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical & Energy Sector. Job position to be in UAE with responsibilities covering engineering activities across Middle East region.

How You’ll Make an Impact

    Perform design activities as part of a team for electrical systems, including MV and LV motors, MV VFDs, switchgear, batteries, rectifiers, inverters, DC-DC converters, and transformers, ensuring comprehensive system integration.
    Act as the technical authority for MV and LV variable frequency drives and electric motors, responsible for final equipment selection in projects.
    Provide technical support to the sales and bid team, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and supplier capabilities.
    Contribute to the development of project time schedules for the electrical scope of work, supervising deadlines, quality, and costs throughout the project lifecycle.
    Oversee the design review process and prepare affiliated documents such as data sheets, technical evaluations, single line diagrams, typical drawings, and technical calculations.
    Prepare technical specifications and inquiry documentation, participate in engineering and optimization of interfaces, review contractor engineering, and stay current on relevant technologies to provide fitting solutions that meet client needs and maintain a competitive edge.

What You Bring

    Bachelor’s degree in Power Electrical Engineering, with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering considered a plus.
    Minimum of 3 years of experience with MV and LV variable frequency drives and electric motors, alongside at least 10 years of industry experience in Oil & Gas with international companies.
    Broad experience with industrial-scale drives in the power range of 1+ MW, including design experience in brownfield projects involving “motor to motor” or “turbine to motor” replacements for mechanical equipment such as compressors and pumps.
    Deep understanding of project business dynamics, particularly in customer engagement within Energy/Power, Oil & Gas, and Petrochemical turbomachinery applications.
    Strong intercultural sensitivity for effective collaboration in international teams, coupled with self-motivation, high energy drive, and business acumen.
    Excellent multitasking and organizational skills, ensuring high-quality work processes, along with practical knowledge of software such as Eplan and AutoCAD, and excellent spoken and written English language skills.
