Job overview

This role is responsible to manage end to end Source to Settle activities for the assigned portfolio which primarily consists of indirect spend, such as, primarily consulting services, recruitment services, legal, finance and tax advisory services, creative agencies, media and production etc.

Your impact on our goals

• 
  Contributes into the overall Ooredoo strategic sourcing mission of the department.
  Ensures execution of savings targets and related action plans for assigned categories.

• Liaises with relevant functions to receive sourcing requests and ensures they are implemented swiftly and accurately.

• Develop sourcing strategy, secure alignment with business units and secure necessary approvals.
  Manages all up-stream activities including RFx process, vendor negotiation and contract finalization in conjunction with the superior.

• Ensures timely and accurate completion of all downstream activities i.e. validation of Purchase Requisitions and issuance of preparation of Purchase Orders.

• Ensure all activities follow the prescribed governance and maintains the highest standards of transparency and fairness.

• Evaluates sourcing strategies based on changing market conditions and makes any necessary changes to ensure that Ooredoo is always ‘ahead of the game' and is proactive in its management of its activities.

• Instills within the department a supplier relationship management philosophy which will facilitate communication between internal customers and suppliers sharing areas for improvement and partnership working to improve performance.

• Manages the reporting requirement for the function and tracks compliance.
  Constantly seeks to update own knowledge and that of others within the department in relation to industry standards for Strategic Sourcing of high value products or services.

• Manages new supplier sourcing on a continuous basis to ensure that Ooredoo has a stream of potential suppliers for all products in order to be able to deliver customer requirements at all times.

• Establishes and manages a strategic sourcing vendor database for the assigned portfolio

• Acts as a focal point to resolve supplier grievances, investigate and manage disputes and support Ooredoo management with informed decision making with regards to all sourcing and procurement related matters.

• Supports the day-to-day operations in line with the required standards of Ooredoo to deliver the highest level of service to internal customers whilst at the same time building supplier relationships to ensure that Ooredoo's suppliers become long term business partners.

• Trains and supervises junior buyer(s) and ensures knowledge transfer on on-going basis.

Experience

• 
  5-8 years' experience in a similar role.

• Experience in a Strategic Sourcing function within an indirect spend portfolio, ideally, within a telecom organization.

• An expert at developing costing models as per the requirements and able to develop detailed commercial analysis across supplier offers.

• Adept negotiation and communication skills.

• Must have in-depth understanding of key Contractual terms and ability to successfully negotiate independently with suppliers.

• Experienced in use of various upstream and downstream procurement systems (preferably, Oracle and i-valua)
