Position Summary

Fives Services Gulf is actively seeking a Carbon Specialist (F/M) to join its teams in Bahrain/UAE.

Fives Services Gulf is the Fives service Centre for the Middle East. With a team of 130 people based in Bahrain, Dubai and Saudi Arabia, Fives Services Gulf provides local customer service, project execution support and local parts sourcing, in addition to carrying out refit and modernization projects, audits and technical assistance on customer sites. A team is also dedicated to the maintenance of equipment in operation at our customers' plants.

Job Content

To support the Services Team in Green Anode Process area. This includes anode manufacturing, anode rodding, and bath processing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing plant operations, ensuring high-quality anode production, and implementing digital/Industry 4.0 advancements. The role requires hands-on experience with process line equipment, troubleshooting, and improving operational efficiency in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.

- Carbon Portfolios

• Act as a reference for projects requiring specific technical expertise.
• Be the local reference on equipment and process for carbon (Fives Solios and ECL)
• Assist in forming the scope of work for customer solutions Digital solutions.
• Participate in meetings to represent and define needs with our clients. Send information to the digital managers of companies produced for encryption and/or execution.
• Participate in the promotion of technological innovations, new products.
• Participate in the development of the implementation of projects on the subject, both internally and on site.
• Actively participate in strategic solution development activities with product companies.
• Regularly monitor market and competition developments; Make recommendations for adjustments to initial strategies.
• Act as technical advisor in projects involving digital solutions.
• Develop and manage the training and adoption of digital tools by internal (sales, technical) and external (client) teams.
  

• Site supervision
  

• Participate in the start-up of equipment.
• Perform required audits.
• Work with project managers, technical department and construction department.
• Supervise the subcontractor teams during installation.
• Be a leader in health, safety, environment and quality at sites.
• Identify non-conformances and implement corrective actions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct post-project meetings and follow-up actions.
• Troubleshooting
• Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies for critical equipment
• Provide technical training and mentorship to operational teams
  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Education & qualifications
  

• 10 years of experience in the field of aluminum; preferably in-depth knowledge of the products Fives ECL, Fives Solios and Fives Solios (Expertise in carbon) .
• Strong knowledge of hoisting.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a relevant field
• Fluency in both oral and written English.
• Knowledge of the field of automation and the internet of things (IoT).
• Expertise in supporting digital products
• Motivated, dynamic, and good interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem solving & troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to identify internal and external client needs and provide innovative technical solutions.
• Methodical with a sense of organization, rigorous.
• Provide excellent internal/external customer service.
• Team spirit and communication skills.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant sales experience .
• General knowledge of drawings and reading of drawings; basic knowledge of drawing software (Autocad, SEE).
• Computer knowledge of MS-Office and ERP-SAP B1 software.
• The position requires regular travel and sometimes hotel stays depending on the distance to be covered (requires a valid driver’s license and passport).
